The 45TH President.
America has had a lot of presidents, some more famous, or infamous
than others. But there's ONE, who's claim to fame was, ONE DAY IN OFFICE!
We all know about this guy.
Then there was John Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe,
John Quincy Adams, Jackson, Martin van Buren, Harrison, Tyler and James Polk.
Then, there's this guy- Zachery Taylor...
...I'll get back to him a moment.
Following him was Filmore, Pierce, Buchanan,
and, the Great Emancipator, Lincoln.
After Lincoln, came Andrew Johnson, Grant, Hayes and Garfield.
Then Chester Arthur, Cleveland, and Harrison.
Cleveland still hadn't had enough, so he got in again!
He was followed by McKinley, Teddy Roosevelt, then Taft and Woodrow Wilson.
Harding came next, followed by, Coolidge, (they named a dam after him),
and Hoover, (yet another dam). F.D. Roosevelt was next,
followed by Truman and Eisenhower.
Camelot came into being with Kennedy.
Johnson took office after that unfortunate incident in Dallas.
Nixon resigned and left it to Ford.
Carter from Plaines was next and then Reagan did two terms.
Bush (the senior did one), Clinton did two terms,
as did Bush the junior, and finally...Barak Obama.
O.K., remember I said I'd get back to you on Zachary Taylor?
Turns out, innauguration day fell on a Sunday, and,
Taylor, being religious, wouldn't take the oath of office on a sabbath,
so it fell upon David Rice Atchison to swear in as President
FOR ONE DAY!
So he was the 12th in succession, AND, the 45th President!
And now, you know the rest of the story!
Depending on the source you research, this is disputed,
but, there is a plaque to him and his home town is also
home to the smallest Presidential library.
Still on Presidents: Contrary to common belief, Mount Rushmore
is NOT a natural phenomenon-it was carved!
