Another extension for the first-time homebuyer tax credit is in the works.  The U.S. House of Representatives passed the bill Tuesday night, but it's not yet finalized by the Senate and President Obama.

The house passed the extension by an overwhelming majority of 409 to 5 votes.  If the Senate and the President sign off on this bill, first-time homebuyers who are scurrying to close on their house by midnight Wednesday, June 30, 2010, could catch a break.

Hopefully they kept all the pork out of this bill so that it will pass this time.  I heard 200,000 buyers were in danger of not closing on time even though they were under contract by the due date.

Thanks for the update!
