Apples, peaches, pumpkin pie...

Well, apples, peaches, cantaloupes, green beans, sweet corn, melons and more...are available for self picking or already picked.  What a fun day!

Pack up the car, pack up the friends or the family or the kids and head south to cooler temps and healthy pickin!

Weekend events make the place even more special with a corn maze, baked goods, sunflower patch - all kinds of fun things.

Gala apples are ripe for picking starting in August, but you can see a whole harvest calendar here.

You can also call 520-384-2084 if you'd like more information of to see what produce is available for picking.

If you don't have your own home garden, and keep missing the farmer's market - here's the next best thing.  Pick your own produce at Apple Annie's in Wilcox, Arizona.

Sounds like a marvelous place, Cara. But, don't you have to go early in the morning to avoid the heat? We have ollaberry/blackberry/kiwi Pick-UR-Own farms coastside in San Mateo County, but with the fog, one often wears a sweatshirt! I love the differences in our areas. Happy 4th!

Willcox is a good ten degrees cooler than Tucson! May not seem like much, but in the summer - it's a blessing. I miss the pick your own strawberry farms from Washington and Wisconsin - and blackberries grow like weeds on the roadside in WA - here they get to $4.99 a tiny 1/2 pint! I guess it balances out with the prickly pear fruit products... Have a great weekend!
