15 Comments on Builders are you listening? Give me a first floor master
I have seen many builders offer one model with first floor Main bedrooms in each development in my area
Charles, With the baby boomers controlling 75% of the wealth in the country you would think that 1st floor masters would be dominating by now!
Good advice to builders. We also have a shortage of homes with a first floor master bedroom.
Charles,
Your suggestion make much sense. I just wish builders would start listening.
First floor master should be a requirement. Good point about the baby boomers Charles.
A first floor master MUST be in a builder's portfolio. It's a recent phenomenon but a fact in today's market.
It also ads to the cost of the properties and that's something that has to be explained to buyer.
Charles, we have the same problem here too. Properties with first floor masters are hard to find...
YOu are not alone...most folks I run into around here feel the same way....have a nice day!
Charles,
I couldn't agree more... Masters on the main level should be a mainstay, especially for those with chronic pain, as well as those who are baby boomers. And this generation buys most of the homes.
Charles,
Totally agree on this one....but we do have some younger folks with young children who need all the rooms together. It would be nice if they had a master up and a master on the main floor....
Most certainly there should be a master on the first floor in this day and age. Unless, of course, their are enough of the younger generation who can afford the cost involved with a two story house. Good heads up, Charles.
My knees would really enjoy a main level master. I can see that in about ten years, that will be my home of choice as well.
Charles - I completely agree. I've never had a buyer wanting the master UPSTAIRS! Most of my out of state buyers are always specific to tell me they want the Master on the Ground Floor.
Charles,
I hope builders catch on soon. The demand for master bedrooms on the main floor is really high in our area as well.
It is an issue...and I agree with you completely. I find them in larger homes, but not the smaller ones that people want to downsize to after they give up the big family home. Who wants to go from a large colonial to a lot of stairs? Kind of defeats the purpose in many cases!
