Kerr Lake is NC's best kept secret. I had another lovely weekend at the lake. It was so quiet there over the weekend. I am surprised at how few people make it to the lake.

The lake is located off of I85 on the NC and VA line. It is exactly 45 minutes from my home in Wake Forest and about 1 hour from Raleigh, Cary and Durham. There are several boat ramps and public beaches.

The lake is so large it never feels over crowded or unsafe for skiing, tubing, boating, swimming, jetskiing or wake boarding.

If you live in the Triangle I would highly recommend a relaxing low key weekend at Kerr Lake. There are inexpensive homes for  rent and or camprounds.

I have to agree with you there Rebecca.  Kerr Lake certainly is quiet.  Ken and I are there every weekend on our boat and we are constantly surprised how few boats there are on this incredible lake!!
