This morning I got back from a quick, two day trip down to San Francisco.  It was one of those wirlwind affairs trying to meet with a lot of different people in a short amount of time.  There is definetly a strong buzz growing in the industry about what is happening here at ActiveRain.  Several people that I talked to described how only a month ago they had never heard of ActiveRain, but now everyone is talking.

Since we embarked on this project building ActiveRain only six months ago (launched 5 months ago, yesterday), we felt like we were doing something that could truly leave a lasting, positive impression on the industry.  Many of our members have realized we are doing something truly special, but its just now starting to spread to the wider circle, and it's VERY exciting.  Part of my personal exitement comes from the fact that I just got invited to speak at Inman's Real Estate Connect NYC on the subject of "how online social networking can lift real estate".

While I was in the area I had a chance to sit down and have a beer with The Real Estate Tomato, Jim Cronin (a great guy I might add)  We had a very lively discussion about how social networks and blogging are very rapidly changing the face of online real estate marketing.  While here at ActiveRain we're attempting to do this at a massive level, he is doing a great job helping individual agents transform their business and realize that the true power of the Internet is fostering the agent, client relationship rather than pulling the two apart as many companies have tried to do.

Matt - you guys put together a great concept and I can speak for the AR community that we are very glad you did it.  I have only been a member a month and have gotten so much from this network.  THANK YOU!

Matt - I appreciate this opportunity to get to know and interact with real estate professionals.  This is an amazing community with everyone encouraging each other, sharing marketing tips, and just listening when we need to vent frustrations.  What an amazing concept.  THANK YOU for all your hard work and continuous improvements.

Matt - I can't begin to tell you how much my involvement here on AR has affected my life, both professionally and personally. I am growing and being stretched in both areas in a very positive way. The contacts I am making on this platform are relationships that I will no doubt have and treasure for a lifetime! I am excited for the future and will ever be indebited to you and your team for making it all possible. Never hesitate to call upon me if you ever need anything.

Congratulations on the continues success of AR and your invitation to speak at the Real Estate Connect NYC. I'm sure you will open a lot of eyes and I'm sure we can expect the NY area contingent to really grow here at AR.

Matt, in the just month or so I've been here, I've learned so much from the blogs and from people I would never have met any other way. I've also made some great biz contacts so I have to say thank you as well. Hard to believe AR has just been online now for 5 months.

You hit the nail on the head with the internet goal of fostering the relationship between agent and client. When sites have only listings, they miss this concept. The more middlemen involved, the less likely a relationship will develop.

I am very impressed with AR.  You have done a phenomenal job with the functionality of the site.  I don't think I have had any problems, or experienced any frustration, with the user interface. Congratulations on a job well done!

I  guess I have become a blogging evangelist.  I teach in a class room, online and on a one to one basis.  I share my secrets with competitors.  I recommend active rain and suggest that it is a great example of an online community that really works!  Now if you would just add a spell checker and get rid of the hard to spell fruits you would have a perfect product. :)

Matt,

I have always thought that would be the way to go. Much more interesting to the consumer. A human interface and unique in its own way.  Keep up the great work. You will have a lot of upset people if AR were to dissappear into internet oblivion.

Matt, you guys have made this a great site in an unbelievable short period of time. People would not be joining and talking about if it wasn't a professional quality site.

Matt-

It was a real pleasure having the opportunity to make your acquaintance.  You too are a great guy, and being a fan of Guinness gives you that much more integrity.  Congratulations on your success - ride the wave!

Cheers!

Not sure how, but I essentially stumbled onto Active Rain only a few weeks ago.  I've been amazed how my profile and blog are already showing up on the first page in Google.  I have worked hard for over a year on my primary website and blogs and have been so happy to get top google rankings... NOW Active Rain does it for me in about a month.  Now I have one more spot in the tp 10 for my key words!  It' not only awesome.  It's amazing.

My one burning question at the moment is:  Where does the AR addiction support group meet?

I think there is a planned AR addiction (support group) meeting down at NAR next Saturday.  I want to try to get some regional meetings set up in the near future.
