OK, last week I wrote about my inspirational friend Darran Zenger, but he just keeps amazing me!

I know it has only been a week since I wrote about my friend Darran Zenger who continues to be an inspiration to my family and I. But, being legally blind and deaf he continues to do great things despite having Usher Syndrome he never lets that defeat him and continues to prove to everyone that nothing should hold you back!

Ok, welcome back… OK, after reading all that from my post, the Red Cross post and the Oprah magazine article, Darran has now stepped it up even more receiving his Instructor Certification for Adult/Child CPR/AED+ Infant CPR + Standard First Aid. He was originally told that he wasn’t going to get it because he was blind, but after a big meeting the national executive assistant called him to tell him that his teaching skill were never in question and they have decided to give him the certification to teach. So, can you believe this great guy with a great attitude about life being told he can’t do something and then doing it anyway.

So, next time you feel that you can’t achieve something in life, think of Darran and what he has done with his life and get back out there and try again.

Todd I have a son who was born blind and deaf. He wears new hearing aids that give him fairly good hearing. He isn't able to take care of himself, so my wife has a full time job. She is the one who amazes me.
