I use urns in our courtyard with dwarf meyer lemon trees-- I have really enjoyed spending extra time this summer getting our gardens in good shape! It is fun, relaxing, and gives you such a feeling of accomplishment! Kathy
Kathy,
Send pictures!! I am in Massachusetts so our summer is alot shorter!
I like to have the gardening ideas and have my husband do the hard stuff in the garden-ha!ha! Fortunately he enjoys watering and planting. But it really is relaxing to putz around in the garden-even weeding....Thanks for stopping by.
Marianne
Lovely images with simple, (fairly) easy to implement ideas.
Marianne....I love to do a variety of raised beds in the yard...I have a red sox bench in one, a fountain with waterfall in another.....I'll have to pick your brain for more ideas....post more photos.
These are just beautiful photos and great ideas. The urn is very eye-catching and should be easy to care for when finished.
Michelle- Thanks for stopping by!
Barbara-Your yard sounds awesome. I am finally starting to do some fun things in my yard (you know....decorating everyone else's house but my own waits). The fountain with the waterfall sounds like something that I would love....the sound alone! I want to see YOUR pictures! BTW I am going to try and come to RainCamp-have to do some juggling but I will let you know if I am coming.
Connie-Thank you! They are simple to do. The main thing w/ the urn is to drill a hole at the bottom for drainage and add some pebbles before you put the potting soil in.
Marianne - these are beautiful photos. I love the silver balls in the flower beds. It's such a surprising thing to see. It almost looks as if some fairies had been playing with them, and left them there for another day. Charming.
Sally-I love the image of the fairies leaving the sparkly balls in the garden! Thanks for stopping by-I really love YOUR work!
Great advice! It takes that little extra touch to catch the buyer's eye and capture their heart!
Love the glass spheres! You have inspired me to get out in my garden this 4th Holiday.
Sharon- It is just these simple things that make gardens fun!
Cathy Lee- I love them too-and they are easy!
Your garden ideas are charmingly beautiful, Marianne. I love those gazing balls which were popular in Victorian gardens and look just as magical today. I've heard you can add a patina to garden sculptures with yogurt -- did you use paint?
These are unique ideas, Marianne, and they really turn out a beautiful garden. I love the arrangement with the balls and the colors in the second picture.
Maureen-Thank for stopping by-always a pleasure. I did the patina with paint. I have never tried yogurt. I will have to try it. With the paint, though, I can control the colors. Have a wonderful fourth!
Jane-You remind me of wonderful LA. My husband and I visited CA for the first time last fall when we were setting up our daughter in an internship for Emerson. It was really fun. Thanks for stopping by.
Marianne, now your blogging right my alley...love your examples! Those gazing balls reflect the light and add to the interest in the garden.
I came back to edit my last sentence, it made no sense!
Cynthia,
Thanks! I also love things that reflect light and add sparkle! Thanks for stopping by!

I love that head!!! I used to live in the NE and grew Hosta's, I had them everywhere, which was funny, because, they just happened to come up and multiple every year, from the previous owners. I tried to bring some to Texas, but the heat is too intense. I'm from TX so I'm use to the foilage here. Now, I'm going to be on a mission to find a head, I may have tropicals, but I've accented with European accents and fountains outside.
Cindy, That is so funny-I love that head too but you were the first one to say it here! I think people either love it or hate it. And the hostas are so low maintenance here. I love the yellow green one the most. Where are you from in New England?
