Attention ALL Active Rain Addicts

I drink more coffee, so I can sleep less hours, so I can spend more time on Active Rain, so I can generate business, so I can make more money, so I can buy more coffee, so I can sleep less hours.....etc., etc., etc. You get the point.

Active Rain is more than just a community, it is an addiction for many of us. Instead of creating Active Rain Anonymous (which I don't think is possible) this is a place where fellow AR Junkies can share their tales of woe as Active Rain slowly eats up our sleep time, family time and beyond. Share your funny stories, your sad stories, your pathetic stories about what Active Rain is doing to your life.

To paraphrase the band Garbage, "I'm only happy when it (active) rains!"

My name is Adam Waldman, I joined AR 11 days ago, and I am an Active Rain Addict.  This is my 15th blog.  I've made 134 comments and received 154 comments.  And now, I've started my own group.

In my short time here, I've learned a lot from some great people about blogging, SEO and making the most of my presence on Active Rain.  There have been some great posts about the state of our industry and some moving posts about some real-life issues that people have faced or are currently facing.

Many of us refer to ourselves as Active Rain Addicts, so I figured that I would try my hand at starting a support group of sorts.  If you'd like to share your stories about your AR addiction, please post them in this group.  Not that addicts would need any help finding this group, but I figure that you're busy blogging away and don't need to waste time searching for something.

Click here to join this group.  We'll have some fun, share some laughs, and support each other as only other AR Addicts are capable of.

Please comment, rank and recommend this post.  Let all of your addict friends know that there is a new group that they need to join!

Wow all that in 11 days you better make sure to get a Costco size can of coffee!! Keep up the good work and yes Active Rain is addictive!

TONY:  I guess I may have gone a little crazy so far, but I am new to blogging and it's like a new toy for me.  I've always enjoyed writing, but never had an outlet.  Please send me some more information about your services as it may come in handy for my relocation business.  I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Tony.

Adam,

Get some sleep.  How's the NY market.  I moved from Westchester to the SF Bay Area in 73.  Good luck here with Active Rain.  If you ever have any Northern California (SF Bay Area)referals please keep me in mind. I'd be happy to reciprocate along the same lines..., and all the best!

Adam:
"I can generate business,". Has activeRain "addiction" generated any business so far? How many less hours did you sleep to genearte more than 8,000 points in just 11 days?

08/13/2007 09:48 AM by Neetu Kainthla (BrazosLand Realty)

I'm addicted too, but spend long days in the field. The odd part is that while I'm actually practicing real estate all day long, I'm looking forward to getting back on AR to drum up more biz. As if I had time for more clients that will keep me away from AR! It's a quagmire!!

08/13/2007 09:49 AM by Portland Oregon Real Estate Broker * Jennifer Bukaty * (RE/MAX equity group, inc.)

SKYE:  Thanks for your comments.  I actually only drink coffee occasionally, but I loved the graphic and thought that it was appropriate.  Please send me some more information about your services.  I think that virtual assistants are a great idea.  I've actually asked my wife to look into this as a possible profession.   I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Skye.

MARK:  Thanks for your comments.  I will definitely keep you in mind for any Bay Area business.  When I worked in the music industry years ago, we did a lot of trade shows in your area.  Most of the people that came from New York talked about staying and living in SF.  It offers a lot of what NY has to offer.  The NY market has picked up in July after a slower-than-usual spring.  However, this new Jumbo mortgage crisis, combined with the sub-prime mess is taking a toll on the buyer pool on Long Island (and I'm sure Westchester as well).  I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Mark.

08/13/2007 09:58 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

NEETU:  Active Rain has actually generated a potential buyer already.  I was kind of kidding about sleeping less, I was just trying to drive the point home that AR has the potential to keep you awake at night.  I actually have a bit of insomnia anyway, so it just gives me something productive to do instead of watching late-night TV or infomercials.  I guess the point total can really add up when you post and comment a lot.  I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Neetu.

08/13/2007 10:01 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

JENNIFER:  Great response.  It is a quagmire.  I have just used time that would otherwise be done doing something less productive anyway.  I haven't gotten to the point of letting it affect my business in a negative way.  I actually already have a buyer lead prospect from my efforts.  I also find myself thinking about blog ideas when I'm out and about.  It's great because it gives me something to look forward to and I really do enjoy writing.  I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Jennifer.

That's a great cycle to be caught up in! The ones who get the most out of the Rain are those who jump right in. When I joined about a year ago, we could write three posts per day instead of the current limit of ten per week. Imagine the addiction then! Make sure you build a presence in Localism as well.

08/13/2007 10:06 AM by John Novak - Las Vegas and Henderson NV Real Estate (Keller Williams Realty The Marketplace)

MISSY:  Thank you for joining.  You are one of the people that has given me a lot of great information and enjoyment from your posts.  I owe my widget to your blog.  I'll speak to you soon.

08/13/2007 10:07 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

JOHN:  I really appreciate your comments and your help in using MyBlogLog.  I imagine that I'll probably end up exceeding the 10-post limit in some weeks even though there won't be points given.  Although, coming up with 10 a week is a challenge.  My goal is to only put up posts that I think that people would find interesting, helpful or funny.  I have posted most of my stuff on localism as well.  Is there any other way to build up my presence there?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated as always.  I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks John.

Adam - (voice of Yoda).....  you must be slow and steady my friend.... don't overload....   the force is strong... but sometimes you must resist the urge and take time for oneself!!!

BACK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER.....    SLOWLY.... COME ON YOU CAN DO IT!!!

08/13/2007 11:45 AM by Desiree Daniels, Mercer County, NJ, Real Estate (RE/MAX Tri County)

Desiree - I love it - great advise!

I consider myself an addict and I only blog 600 points a day......man - have your legs gone numb?

08/13/2007 11:49 AM by Kate Bourland; Redding Mortgage, Loss Mitigation, Money Merge Accounts (Windsor Capital, Dyer Beech & U First Financial)

DESIREE:  Your posts always put a smile on my face!  I'm exaggerating a bit with the addiction thing.  I have it under control (I guess every addict says this though, so this isn't proving my point).  I'm excited about the potential that Active Rain has on its own and to enhance my business.  I promise, I will take time for myself.  I did yesterday, in fact.  Just so you don't worry about me too much, yesterday morning I played baseball.  For years, I have been trying to get back into it, but it's very difficult to get onto a team if you don't know somebody.  I finally got the call and went and played.  It felt great.  Ok, I'll admit that I did blog when I got home, but just for a short time.  After blogging, I spent time with the family playing in the backyard.  My son and I were playing for a long time on his Spider-Man slip and slide that he got for his birthday recently.  As much as I enjoy Active Rain, I defy anyone to not have a smile on while going on a slip and slide.  I ended the day with my final softball game.  It's been a tough season (as far as wins and losses), but it was a fun team to play on, with a real good bunch of guys that found me on a free-agent website.  We didn't win many games this year, but we won the first game last night and played "spoiler," knocking the team we played out of the playoffs.  So, you see, I do take the time even though it seems as though I never leave the computer.  Anyway, as always, I appreciate you reading my blog.  Can you do me a favor and sign up for this new group (even if you don't post there) so that it becomes a viable place for others with the "addiction."  Thanks Desiree.  I'll speak to you soon.

08/13/2007 11:59 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

KATE:  Thanks for posting.  You sound like a perfect fit for the new group ("I only post 600 points a day").  Can you quit whenever you want too? (LOL)  The legs don't get numb as much as other parts, but I do try to move around a bit also.  I imagine that it will taper off a bit at some point, but I'm having a lot of fun.  As I've mentioned to others, I really do enjoy writing, and this gives me an outlet to do so.  It's also good practice for a book that I'm writing.  Anyway Kate, I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Kate.

08/13/2007 12:04 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

I had no idea when I joined that an addiction would ever take place!  But I see what you mean - I am addicted to the information I receive but it's also brought out my competitive side which feeds my addiction even more!

08/13/2007 01:54 PM by Nathan Blair - Salt Lake City, Utah Real Estate (RE/MAX Results)

NATHAN:  I laughed out loud when I read your comment.  The little saying that I used on top was from that old anti-drug commercial that said "I do more coke, so I can work more hours, so I can make more money, so I can buy, more coke, etc., etc., etc.  I really loved this graphic, because for many of us, it would be closer to the truth.  However, I'm going to create one for you "I go on Active Rain so I can get more information, so I can post more blogs and comments, so I can get more points, so I can WIN!!! Uh, I mean so I can get more information, so I can post more.......Thanks for your comment Nathan.  Hopefully these 25 points will be your favorite comment points of the day.  Not that I'm competitive or anything ;-).

Anyway Nathan, this new group seems like it's right up your alley.  We can talk about our competitive spirits in our addiction room.  I'd love to build up the subscriber base in this new group, and I'd appreciate it if you would join.  Thanks Nathan.

08/13/2007 02:04 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam, I'm joining your new group right now. Maybe it should be called Active Rain Rehab... after all rehab seems to be in vogue these days for young Hollywood stars.

08/13/2007 03:22 PM by Brian Block -- Northern Virginia & D.C. Real Estate (RE/MAX Allegiance)

Great idea Brian.  Being that we are the stars of our own little world here.  The only problem with Rehab instead of support group is that the Hollywood stars seem to just visit the rehab centers when it's convenient for them whether or not they have solved any of their problems.  My goal is to have people here and wanting to stay because we're having so much fun in the addict room!  Thanks for posting Brian.  I really enjoy reading all of your blogs.  Did you get my comment about creating a seller's flow chart?  Talk to you soon.

08/13/2007 03:26 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam- You sound pretty enthusiastic and show it also. Active Rain is a great way to meet people.  it is a great place for information and share experiences.  I'm originally from  Plainview, NY and my cousin sells real estate in Suffolk county. I'm off to join your group.

08/13/2007 04:57 PM by Robert Schwabe - Orange Park Real Estate (Coldwell Banker Tatum, Williams)

ROBERT:  Thanks for your comments.  It really has been a great experience so far.  I'm looking forward to more learning and more enjoyment.  Thanks for joining the group.  It should be a lot of fun in there.  How long ago did you leave Plainview?  Do you like it in FLA?  Who is your cousin, maybe I know him/her?  I went to school with a girl named Stacy Schwabe, any relation?

08/13/2007 07:30 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam- I left Plainview in 1985 when I was 17. I really like Florida except is so hot in the summers. I have no relationship to Stacy Schwabe. My cousins name is Cindy Mantione she works for Coach Realty. I just got her to join Active Rain last week.

08/13/2007 07:59 PM by Robert Schwabe - Orange Park Real Estate (Coldwell Banker Tatum, Williams)

Robert - small world. I've spoken to your cousin before about a listing that she had in Hauppauge a while back.  Thanks for joining the AR Addicts group.  I'll speak to you soon.

08/14/2007 01:36 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam - This is a great (and accurate) post.  I think I realized just how hypercompetitive I really am once I actively started posting.

08/14/2007 01:53 AM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

Thanks Jason.  I hope that you'll be joining the group.  You wouldn't want someone else to beat you to it, would you? (LOL).  I can see that you're already well on your way to qualifying by seeing the time that your post came in.  I should have just posted this in the middle of the night and treated it like an AR infomercial!  Thanks again for your comments.

08/14/2007 06:57 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Hi Adam,

Thanks for the invite.  Since you're relatively new to the network, you probably aren't aware that it's bad etiquette to put a link to your post in the comments of another member's post.  We appreciate the invite but we thought we'd pass that along so you don't get others mad at you.

On the point of AR addiction - yes, we too, are addicted to sharing in the rain.  Ain't it great?  Who wants to quit?  Not us!  Thanks again and we'll see you around in the Rain!

08/14/2007 10:30 AM by Pascack Valley Real Estate>> Lisa and Robert Hammerstein (Coldwell Banker)

Adam - I am excited about this group, and you are right about the time that I posted.  Ridiculous?  No - just addicted.

08/14/2007 11:30 AM by Jason Crouch, Broker - Austin Texas Real Estate (Austin Texas Homes, LLC)

LOL - Thanks Jason.  You are a perfect fit in our little (but hopefully growing) group.  I gave you kudos on the new group board for being the first poster.  Keep up the good work my insomniac friend!

08/14/2007 11:39 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam, I'm in.  Between Active Rain and Trulia Voices, it's amazing that I actually sell any Real Estate right now.  I have to physically push myself away from the computer.  I guess it's true what they say about agents:  we love to hear ourselves talk.  Or type for that matter.

08/14/2007 11:50 AM by Paul Slaybaugh, Scottsdale AZ Real Estate (Realty Executives)

PAUL:  You are always good for a laugh my friend.  I wish that we lived closer so that we could go and grab a beer or something.  I find myself having to "push away" myself.  In fact, I have an upcoming blog about that subject that I think you will enjoy.  I haven't been on Trulia Voices yet.  Oh no, now they're going to have to add more hours to the day!!!  I'll leave you with this.  Selling real estate for you now is an interruption of your Active Rain and Trulia time as classes in college were an annoying stoppage to my 4-year party!  Sorry Mom.

P.S.--Thank you so much for your description on the Association.  I'm just getting to the point of adding comments, so I may have to go back and redo some.

08/14/2007 03:04 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

WOW! You are absolutely hooked. Best wishes on your new endeavor.

08/15/2007 07:30 PM by Dionne Morgan REALTOR®,GRI, e-PRO (Realty World Solano Realty)

DIONNE:  Thank you for your comment.  I would appreciate it if you would subscribe to Active Rain Addicts as I'm trying to get this new group off of the ground.  In fact, I just posted my first exclusive blog to the group just moments ago.  Please check it out when you get a chance.  Thank you.

08/15/2007 07:59 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

I don't have time right now but if I remember I will join, I too am a addict an addict to learning new stuff on A/R. Gotta go, great post!

Hello Dahling Naples is in the house!  Yes..I am not quite to 11 days but more coffee and less sleeping and me too will be 8,000 plus points in 11 days or less!  BET!  Happy to be here!

08/15/2007 09:14 PM by Shannon Lefevre Naples, Florida CRS (John R. Wood REALTORS Inc.)

Adam, get a job.  LOL  I think that's some kind of record around here but I could be wrong.  You might very well be the first AR Newbie who's truly hooked.  I always say to Newbies to enjoy the rain, but I don't want to enable you.  (The picture is a hoot!)

08/15/2007 09:52 PM by Yolanda Hoversten - Metro East IL Real Estate (Prudential One Realty Centre)

GARY:  Thanks for posting.  Please don't forget to join.  The bigger we make this group the better it will be.  We need all the addicts that we can get in Active Rain Addicts and tell all your friends too.  I really appreciate your comments.

08/15/2007 10:49 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

SHANNON:  Welcome to da house Naples!  I see that I have found the yin to my yang.  I really appreciate your post.  So Naples, did you join Active Rain Addicts yet?  If not, what are you waiting for?  If yes, how many people are you going to bring to the table?  You seem to be up for a challenge (BET).  If so, then please join me in recruiting.  Together, we'll rule the world.  Well, maybe that's a little hyperbole.  But we can be the fast-track newbies!

08/15/2007 10:55 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

YOLANDA:  Thank you for your comments and compliments.  I know that you don't want to enable us newbies, so maybe you should monitor us.  A bunch of us are going to be hanging out in the new group that I created Active Rain Addicts.  Please join the group if you haven't already done so.  Maybe you could bring some more hall monitors into the group to help you keep the newbies in check. (LOL).  Seriously, we can use the subscriber base.  Thanks again for commenting.

08/15/2007 10:58 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam.....

I just want to know one thing.....

Where did you get my picture from?

I'm going to check out your group. TTFN

08/15/2007 11:05 PM by Tom Jeffers Affordable Realty of Ohio LLC (Affordable Realty of Ohio LLC)

TOM:  I believe that it was from your business card.  I was inspired by the fact that you showed yourself in a pose other than the standard head shot that we all seem to gravitate towards.  Thank you for your comment and for hopefully joining the group.  If you like what you see, please try and spread the word to others.  The more people we have the more fun this group is going to be.  Thanks again for your post, Tom.

08/15/2007 11:09 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam,  I joined!  Of course I joined...are you teasin?  How many people am I bringing to the table?  We'll have to see, will pitch every chance I get.  My buddies down here in Naples are a little slow to react.  That's alright, it will help me with my qwest for the top spot.  8k in 9 days...by the way...gotcha!  Hey, how long does it take to drive from Hicksville to the Hamptons?

08/16/2007 05:36 AM by Shannon Lefevre Naples, Florida CRS (John R. Wood REALTORS Inc.)

Great to have you on board, Shannon.  You're an asset to the team, and a competitive little fireplug to boot.  I like that.  You are not alone in with your Active Rain Points jones.  There are some other, shall we stay, statistic watchers in the midst.  It is nice when the late adopters give you a sizeable lead.  However, I really was looking for you to recruit existing Rainers to just join, not to get non-Rainers to join AR and then the group.  So, are you up for the challenge?

Are you asking me the Hicksville to Hamptons question as a test of my Long Island knowledge, or  do you actually need to make this trip?  The answer is about an hour depending on which part of the Hamptons you are going to and how fast you drive of course.  My guess is that you are not one that sits in the right lane with your hands on 10 and 2 doing 55, so probably a bit faster with you behind the wheel.  Do you know people on Long Island?

08/16/2007 07:13 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

I am also an addict - Like Adam, I am new to this - I feel like I have gotten so so much great information already to improve what I can do to market myself and listings online. It was like a crash course in being brought up to speed on the latest tools. I hate to admit this, but I have been so addicted that this is my 8th day on Active Rain and I have more than 12,000 points!! I am on a mission to pass the #2 person in Boston he's my former manager and a good friend, but I just have to do it!!! : )

08/17/2007 01:48 AM by Erica Wallace (Hallmark Sotheby's International Realty)

ERICA:  Thanks for your post and for sharing.  I thought that I was point-crazy, but you're putting me to shame.  I'd love it if you would join Active Rain Addicts.  I have a feeling that you'd fit right in!  I've added you as an associate as well.

08/17/2007 01:54 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

I just joined because Like you I am still up and on this crazy network : ) I may be "point crazy" lol ...but I haven't gone and created my own group!!! That's impressive. And I'm on my 13th blog not quite where you're at.

08/17/2007 02:01 AM by Erica Wallace (Hallmark Sotheby's International Realty)

It just means that you're a more efficient addict, but it doesn't diminish your addiction at all.  I'm happy to have you on board.  Tell all of your new friends about us.  With highly motivated people like you, there's no reason why we can't bring this group to the front page!  Thanks again for joining Erica.

My name is Sandi Bauman, and I am an Active Rain Addict, just beginning to resurface for air.  Congrats on your enthusiasm and success so far!  It sounds like you have a bright future ahead of you here-  just keep in mind, "everything in moderation."

SANDI:  Thank you for sharing.  It feels good to say it out loud (or type it out loud as the case may be) doesn't it?  I have kept things in moderation by not just spending time here playing around.  I try to make all of my blogs as informative and/or entertaining as possible, and I do the same with my comments on my blog and others.  That being said, I do think about what's going on when I'm not here.  Thank you very much for joining our expanding group.  I hope that you will invite others to become a part of the group as well.  Thanks Sandi.

GARY:  Welcome to Active Rain Addicts.  You've come to the right place.  Well sort of.  We're really more enablers that will support you than people that will try to help you kick your addiction.  Many in the group wear the title of AR Addict as a badge of honor. "Badges, we don't need no stinkin' badges!"  As you can see by the preceding movie quote, we're also not afraid to have some fun in here.  If you haven't done so yet, I would recommend taking a look at some of the blogs from regular posters to see some entertaining stuff.  Anyway, thanks for your comments, and welcome to the group.  Now get to posting!

08/21/2007 06:23 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

NANCY:  Welcome to the show!  You certainly have met the requirements with your AR resume.  You'll fit in perfectly around here.  By the way, I'm only here a week longer than you, so my addiction is still pretty fresh.  Although, it does seem like Active Rain time is calculated by dog years because it's not even 3 weeks yet, and I can hardly remember what it's like to not have Active Rain.  Thanks for your comments Nancy.  Enjoy the group.

08/21/2007 06:27 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Hi MARCY (imagine a whole room of addicts saying your name in unison).  Welcome to your new home.  You're off to a great start.  It's perfectly ok to go to bed by 2:30am, as long as you're back here first thing in the morning (LOL).  Seriously, you'll often find me here in the middle of the night as well, as I'm a bit of an insomniac.  We're having a lot of fun here so far, and I'm sure that it will only continue as our membership increases.  Thanks for joining Marcy.

08/21/2007 06:32 AM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Hi Nancy, I am asking myself how can you get:

  • 12 days as a Rain Blogger
  • 18 Blog Posts

Blogs are limited to 10 per week... This looks like a record.

ARINA:  You are allowed 10 blog posts per week that can be scored for points.  However, you can post as many as you want.  If you carefully time the posts, you could do 18 in 12 days and get credit for all of them as long as you didn't exceed 10 in a given week.  The week ends on Saturday at 11:59pm and the new week begins at 12:00am on Sunday.  Just remember though, that the site is based on central time, no matter where you are posting from, so adjust accordingly.

Great Post Adam!

I used to live in Patchogue and Coram.

Now I am in the Sunshine State. Now I can get stuck I-4 instead of the LIE parking lot!  lol

I'm off to join your group!

JACQUELINE:  Thank you for your comments.  I always thought that Long Island traffic was the worst, but I keep hearing about traffic problems in other areas too.  How long ago did you leave the Island?  Thanks for joining the group.  I just posted a blog a little while ago entitled Top 10 Reasons To Join Active Rain Addicts.  Please check it out when you get a chance.  It has links to some great posts that we've already had in the group.  Welcome to Active Rain Addicts on behalf of the whole group.  I'll speak to you soon.

We didn't realize there was such a group! We are in! Thanks!

RICK & LYNN:  Thanks for joining.  You won't be disappointed.  By the way, it only started on 8/12/07, so you haven't missed too much yet.

08/21/2007 09:59 PM by Adam Waldman - Long Island REALTOR® (RE/MAX Best)

Adam:  Me too.  I did not realize that, with myself already becoming an ActiveRain addict, that there actually WAS a group called Active Rain Addicts.  With your latest comment back to me about my using your "10 Reasons" post, it finally hit me to LOOK for this group.

Also, the picture above the the "guy" on the cot taking his coffee intravenously... perhaps you could find a similar picture with a woman hooked up to the coffee drip ?  Ok, so here's your chance... show me how inventive and/or industrious you can be.  See if you can find one.  Thanks a bunch...  Karen Anne

KAREN ANNE:  My first challenge.  I like it.  Totally unexpected but a lot of fun.  This concept seems to be easier to find with men, as there were a few to choose from.  I guess people don't think that women are as needy as the men are.  However, never one to shy away from a challenge, I continued my pursuit and met your demands!  It's slightly different, but pretty close to your request.  Thank you for your comment, for joining Active Rain Addicts and for challenging me.

Here's your graphic:

Great for you; that is amazing how fast you have made so many points.

CHRIS:  Thanks for your comment.  The points start to add up fairly quickly if you blog and comment regularly.  I hope that you liked this blog.

Hi, Adam. I got an invite to come and join, so here I am. I read every comment and every answer. HOW do you answer every one??? I know -- it's that Slip 'N Slide! ......Kay

08/28/2007 08:13 PM by Kay Steele Faulk - The Real Estate Copywriter (InHouse Writer)

KAY:  Wow!  You sure are thorough.  Good job by Margaret for bringing you into the fold.  The trick is to come on several times each day, particularly when you get a blog that resonates with the community.  I forgot that I put the slip and slide into a comment until your comment.  I've done a lot of writing so far, so if you want to get caught up on my blogs, please take a look at the blog entitled How To Catalog Your Blogs For Easy Access Using Hyperlinks.  Even if you don't feel like reading the catalog, you may find this to be a useful tip for you.  It's good to have you on board, Kay.  Thanks for your comment.

Well Adam- Today is my first day on AR. Just surfing to see how these wonderful medium works! Any suggestions on the best way to immerse yourself without getting too overwhelmed?

08/28/2007 08:33 PM by Bonnie Joffe (RE/MAX of Cherry Hill)

BONNIE:  Welcome to Active Rain!  I did it the way that you would get into a cold pool - just jump in.  It is overwhelming at times, but you'll get used to the pace as you start to get more comfortable.  Things happen quickly here.  I'm here only 3.5 weeks so far, and I feel like I've been here for such a long time already.  I would suggest reading and commenting as much as you can so that people get to know who you are.  When you first start blogging, people don't really know who you are, so be patient.  I've given out several tips in my blogs.  One of the key tips is learning how to catalog your posts so that you can refer back to them.  You may want to check it out at How To Catalog Your Blogs For Easy Access Using Hyperlinks.  In that blog, I included all of my blogs up until that point, so you can check out anything that you'd like to see just by clicking on a link.  I started a group called Active Rain Addicts.  It's a great group of people that are dedicated to blogging here on Active Rain.  They are very helpful.  Please consider checking out the group and joining if you are interested.  I just launched a contest today for the first time.  There will be prizes awarded (in the form of bonus points).  You may not have an inspiration for it yet, but it is going on until September 12th, when you will be a seasoned veteran.  If you'd like to check it out, please click on the link to Because Of Active Rain I...(fill in the blank and enter a contest for Active Rain BONUS POINTS).  If there is anyting else that you need, please feel free to ask me or the others.  Everyone is really helpful here.  Thanks for your comments on my blog, Bonnie.

LACEY:  You've been an inspiration already.  You may want to check out the comments section of Active Rain Addicts Presents...(Calendar For The Week Ending 9/8/07).  You are mentioned for helping to create a great idea.  Thanks for your comment and for being a part of this group.  I really appreciate it.
