7th Annual Wild Horse Days in Corolla, NC 27927Mark your calendars for the seventh annual Wild Horse Days in Corolla, NC. This year’s event will be held July 6, 7, and 8. Wild Horse Days is a three day celebration designed to educate the public about the need to preserve and protect endangered wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on the Currituck Outer Banks. Sponsored by the non profit Corolla Wild Horse Fund, local businesses, and community volunteers, funds raised are used to care for and manage the wild herd, recently designated as the North Carolina state horse.

Voted one of the top 20 events for July by the Southeast Travel and Tourism Society, 2010’s event is held on the grounds of the Wild Horse Museum on Tuesday and Thursday and Currituck Heritage Park and Corolla Light Town Center on Wednesday. Activities begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. each day.

On Tuesday and Thursday at the Wild Horse Museum visitors will enjoy great food; music; wine tasting; vendors; creative games and crafts for children; hair braiding, wild horse photography contest; carriage rides; and painting activities.

Starting at 10 on Wednesday at Currituck Heritage Park, the Currituck Sheriff’s Department will present a K-9 unit demonstration. There will also be Colonial Spanish Mustang rides; wild horse training demonstrations by Steve Edwards of Mill Swamp Indian Horses; riding demonstrations on formerly wild horses; and a dressage demonstration on Cayuse Gold – a stunning Colonial Spanish Mustang from Rainbow’s End Farm in Suffolk, VA. The Animal Lovers Assistance League will be on hand with pets looking for loving homes.

Also on Wednesday, there will be a huge silent auction in the parking lot of the Corolla Light Town Center with nearly $10,000 in merchandise, gift certificates, a wine tasting for 18, and a week’s stay in a spectacular Corolla beach house. Kids can enjoy playing games while Mom and Dad bid at the silent auction. Table closings are at staggered intervals until 5 p.m.

There is no admission charge all three days and parking is free. For more information go to www.corollawildhorses.org or call 252-453-8002

Do you all accept vendors at the Wild Horse Days (any of the days?)...

If so, can you please provide me with some of the information?  Thanks so much!
