Cape Cod July 4th Celebrations

Here is the schedule of local Cape Cod July 4th celebrations. There were some on Friday (the fireworks in Orleans) and there are some on Saturday (Parades in Chatham, Orleans, Centerville and Hyannisport).

The biggies on Sunday, July 4th, are fireworks in Hyannis, Falmouth and Provincetown.  All three shows are usually good.  The parades in the various Towns are fun - especially in the smaller villages, such as Cotuit, Barnstable Village and Chatham.  This year, in addition to the usual crush of summer visitors, there will be politicians of every variety on display

in Falmouth they are shot from a barge over Falmouth Heights Beach (yeah, that's where the Casino by the Sea and Brother's IV used to be).

Provincetown shoots from Race Point, and you can see them from just about anywhere on Main Street, or the McMillan Pier.  This is a real Independence celebration - in the past there have been two parts to the display, one for the men, a second for the ladies.  It is a fabulous show, and the fireworks add to it.

We'll be going to see the Hyannis/Yarmouth show, shot from Kalmus Park Beach.  We'll be on the other side of Lewis Bay, at a house we have listed for sale.  That's one of the advantages of being in real estate on the Cape - waterfront houses that you can visit.

I'm pretty sure Wellfleet does theirs on Monday, right over the harbor.

Remember, Yarmouth does it's big show on Colombus Day weekend (the Seaside Festival) and Chatham does theirs New Year's Eve (First Night).

Here is the full schedule for Sunday:
