Second Home in Asheville with Flag and Flowers

streets are lined with flags flying,
...and vacation homes in Asheville's beautiful neighborhoods are dressing up for  the 4th of July.

                                                       (see photo)

The talk around the neighborhoods?
Parties, concerts, family friendly activities local gatherings, picnics and, of course the best places to be for fireworks!!!

 It's a Celebration of Independence, Asheville-style. ....

And Asheville always put on one of the biggest and best fireworks displays in the western North Carolina mountains!!

...ABOUT a  Special Selection  of Asheville's Neighborhoods and Gazing Spots for Fireworks Fans
within a short drive...or even walking distance of  that neighborhood. . .

1. From Fairview, and Drovers Road Preserve, head to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Parkway, by the way, is celebrating its 75thAnniversary. Possibly stop for a break at the LEED Certified Destination Center while you are there. Along the Parkway there are turn outs and viewpoints where you can park to watch fantastic displays all over the city.

Summer Night in West Asheville Neighbohood

    2. From Montford,  or from West Asheville, ( a front porch view in West Asheville seen in this photo) walk to historic  downtown Asheville and  the annual 4th of July celebration in Pack Square Park right across the street from the Pack Square Conservancy.   The Conservancy is a living tribute to the American Spirit. Asheville neighbors fought long and hard to preserve this gift for generations to enjoy.

Walk down your path early, because starting at 4:00PM and going until the fireworks start at 9:30PM, you can celebrate America with games, music from local Asheville bands, entertainment and festivities..

OR simply sit on your front porch (see photo)with your family, friends and neighbors with home made treats and get ready for the night sky lit up in celebration of life in Asheville and in America the Beautiful.

3. From Historical Montreat, how about a  "Staycation"  and a bike ride to the 2-day 4th of July weekend celebration that started with a parade and will unfold from there.

4. From your second home at Creston Eco-Friendly Community,  or from your bungalow right in Black Mountain, walk to town for  all-day family fun and fireworks show.  Starting at Noon on July 4th and going up to the fireworks display at 7PM. Get set for contests, games for the young and young-at-heart, food, drinks and a street dance.

4th of July Hike Asheville NC

5. From Swannanoa choose the Swannanoa Valley Museum  annual 4th of July HIKE!

Meet at the museum and hike through the mountains to watch the fireworks.  This is an experience of the "red, white and blue." (see photo)

Did you know that  " ... for millennia, the Swannanoa Valley has been a pathway for animals and humans? . After the Revolutionary War, pioneers entered the Valley. Some settled here. Others, including famed frontiersman Davy Crockett, passed through on their way west.

What a great way to  celebrate the 4thof July! Discover that sense of history in place that we all share when you hike the historical pathways that led to the settlement of one of the most beautiful regions in the United States of America.

Hi JaneAnne:  Love how you showcase Asheville by introducing different different things to do on July 4th and different locations/route to enjoy the fireworks and, yes, included that LEED certified designation.  Also love that first picture of Flag flying among the flower, what a nice opening pictures :-)

Happy July 4th!   Sylvia
