By
Home Inspector with King of the House Home Inspection, Inc. Home Inspector Lic #207

The hours are counting down. How that past month and a half have flown. The next Fundamentals of Home Inspection Training Course will begin at Bellingham Technical College on July 12 -- a Monday. Yikes, that is only a week away.

The course is three weeks long and it fulfills the state's requirement of 120 classroom hours of fundamentals training. Course content includes all of the basics -- exterior, structure, roofing, plumbing, electric, etc. The final week consists of 40 hours of approved field training. Students who successfully complete the program will be eligible to take the state licensing exam.

Hi Steve, Florida just enacted licensing 7/1/10, but we have till 7/1/11 to comply. I'm thinking our 120 hour course will be similar to what you offer in Washington, at least I hope so. It looks like your state has their act together when it comes to home inspectors. jay

Hi Steven, I particularly like the 40 hrs of field study.  A lot to cover in three weeks.
