Look To The Face And Eyes To Read The Beauty And Goodness In People

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

In a people business such as real estate, you get to play armchair psychologist with the logic and the emotions of people a lot. You have to discover their underlying feelings, the undercurrents of the WHY they behave the way they do. Not often a phrase known to the general public, but bantered around many real estate agents is

                                                                       "buyers are liars."

It doesn't mean inherently they are deceiving anyone maliciously but they will say one thing and do another. It is because we have not gotten to know them at that deeper level and come to "understanding."

With six billion people or more in the world more than likely 90% at least are actually very good people. We are all flawed. But if you are to delve deeper into people's beings and get to be a good "Heart Reader" where do you start?

Look To The Face And Eyes To Read The Beauty And Goodness In People

People can seem complex at first, but the face and the eyes reveal much. From the face, as we age it is almost a roadmap of where we have been with smile or frown wrinkles, rough skin from a tough life, a natural smile, and a voice that speaks gently or with vulgarity. The eyes are so key. They say they are the windows to the soul. Are they warm and inviting, cold, shifty, soft, loving, full of care and kindness for you? If there is love, you can see it in the eyes.

Just "look" at the handiwork of faces all around you, past and present, some more known than others, such "variety", no face like another, truly God's own "masterpieces", each and every one:

And so many more of course... Reading the faces and eyes of others takes caring on our part to become good heart readers and to not prejudge people from their walk of life, nationality, background, or more importantly what other people have said that you heard or read. Make up your OWN mind.

We all are children of God and precious in His eyes.

Concentrate on the face and the eyes. Look for the smile, listen to what the voice says or what is written to you, read the face. Intently look into the eyes, the windows of the soul, and down into people's depths where love resides.

Beauty is definitely more than skin deep and if you focus on the face and the eyes you will see plenty of beautiful people out there. Beautiful inside. Where beauty endures. Start with family. Some of the most beautiful people are right there. There's six billion or more of them beyond your inner circle like I said so waste no more time. Start looking at faces and eyes!!

Look for that kindness, pure heart, love, strength of character, and inner peace that so many of your fellow human beings possess. All you have to do is look!!

Good morning Gary,

It is all in the eyes..they tell it all. We took our 14 year old granddaughter to lunch on Friday (we always enjoy a little one on one) and had so much fun! She looks you direct in the eyes and talks and laughs..we can see why she has so many friends and everyone wants to be with her. A delightful young lady that makes you happy and smile!

Inspirational as usual, Mr. Woltal.  Those eyes are a window ... or so I hear.  Your wisdom does shine, my man.  I know I've learned a lot about humanity from the other half of my soul, Ms. Jennifer.  And I'm pretty sure you can learn just as much from the outside as you can from the inside.

Hi Dorie: The very little ones I agree Dorie really PROVE it to us with the light in their eyes. We should all keep that our whole lives.

Hello Mr. Sardi: Jennifer tells you about looking deeply into that soul Jason, and I know you feel all that love for you. You are a lucky man! Don't forget it with her...

Gary--I have never understood when other agents throw out the saying "buyers are liars" as many buyers have a similar lack of trust with real estate agents that I have to work through when they call or attend an open house. Every relationship is different as each buyer is different. I don't want to be painted with the same brush as the bad realtor anymore than a buyer wants to be branded a liar because of deals agents have had in the past. Agents with negativity from the get go should maybe consider another line of work.

Your optimism and positivity goes a long way to start a business relationship on the right path.

Hope you and your family enjoyed a wonderful 4th!

Gets harder and harder to read faces of, shall we say, the older generations as plastic surgey becomes so prominent.  What in the world does Joan Rivers' face say about her?  The only thing I'm getting there is that she is terrified of aging.

Hi Teri: Hope you enjoyed the 4th too. I know as a buyer I would not want to be broad brushed as a liar without giving the agent-buyer relationship a chance to develop.

Anne: I would agree with you on the Joan Rivers face. With all the plastic surgery you are right I think she is going BACKWARDS with the aging. But she must feel good with all that money spent.

Hi Lori: Listening and staying patient with our clietns you are right, gets us to that UNDERSTANDING place we need to be.

Hey Bill: Yep, you are right, you watch that face in front of you, listen to the voice, and look intently into the eyes and you will pretty much figure the other person out!

I do not understand how anyone would lump people together with a desciption because they are a buyer or a seller or real estate agent, or anything else.  Great post.

Judi: You are right that lumping people together is definitely prejudice, should be avoided for buyer, seller, agent and all others in life.

Absolutely true... The talk is insignificant... what is in your eyes is the truth. The eyes are the window of your soul.   I believe in that. When I first meet someone (and even when looking over a picture) I instantly look deep in the eye and check my gut feeling... I am reading the potential of kindness, humbleness, beauty and goodness.  I am rarely wrong. Great post.

Gary, thank you for a beautiful post!  One of the things I love about being a realtor is the relationship that I build with my clients.  By getting to know them, and understanding what they trully need, gives us an insight into what they really want.  I loved the examples of "faces" that your provided.  Have a nice night!

Gary - I don't appreciate knowing that some real estate agents say that buyers are liars. Real estate agents?  The group of professionals who unfortunately and unfairly fall into the same category as attorneys and used car salesman. How do we ever break the cycle if we are referring to our customers and clients in such a way?

Hi, Gary -- I've been "away" for awhile, trying to figure out some things in my life. Came to ActiveRain this morning hoping to find some words of inspiration -- some sign that things will get better, that "this too shall pass." So of course I stopped by your blog and found what I needed. Thank you for sharing your gift with all of us and giving us the reminders we need in this journey we call "life."
