On July 10, at 10 a.m., Leander will have an official opening of their new 
fire station. The “Hose Cutting” ceremony will include station tours and demonstrations by firefighters.
Located directly next to the Leander Police Department off Leander Drive, the new facilities include a fire station, administration offices, training offices, classrooms, and a fire training tower. The public is welcome to participate in the festivities, which include a tour of the station, training demonstrations and a hot dog lunch.
The 16,000 square-foot facility was completed on time and within budget by Jamail & Smith Construction and Moman Architects. Leander has been waiting for the fire station to be built since 2006 when a bond funding project was passed.
