TAX CREDIT CONTINUES UNTIL APRIL 30, 2011 (for some people)
Phil Turner a top Loan Officer in Connecticut and one of our Loan Officers at McCue Mortgage, has just posted this information that I and it seems everyone else as well has missed about the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit.
If you have served with the military outside the USA you may still be able to take advantage of the $8,000.00 or $6,500.00 homebuyer tax credit. Serving at least 90 days out of the country during the time period of December 30, 2008 and May 1, 2010 should make you eligible to still take advantage of the tax credits.
The media and most of us have been focused on the tax credit that was for homebuyers under contract by April 30, 2010. Even more focus has been on the extension of the final closing date from June 30, 2010 to September 30, 2010.
In addition to the military personnel, members of the foreign service and the intelligence community may also take advantage of the April 30, 2011 deadline
The guidelines regarding the $8,000.00 vs. the $6,500.00 are still the same. The extension to next year is the difference for the military, foreign service and intelligence personnel.
Let's get the word out about this important exception. We at McCue Mortgage will do our part.
