Crossville, Tennessee is Award Winning
2009 has come and gone but I was reading the other day about some great accomplishments that Crossville, Tennessee has undergone. Being a resident of the area, words cannot describe how content I am with living in Crossville.
One of the most important things when looking for a home is safety. Is a neighborhood safe for my family? That is crucial when anyone is looking for a house or place to live. Crossville meets that requirement above and beyond the call of duty. In 2009, the Crossville Police Department was recognized and won state and national awards. They received first place in both national and state levels for their highway safety patrols.
Our mayor, J.H. Graham was also presented with top honors for Mayor of the Year. Every year, the Tennessee Municipal League presents this award and Mr. J.H. Graham competed with mayors from across the state. The total evened out to 347 competing mayors for the ultimate title of Mayor of The Year and Crossville's very own won this honor.
Many of Crossville's recreational areas won top awards, as well. The Centennial Softball Complex was awarded the best in the United States! A new Skate park opened up in the Centennial Park and is a local attraction for many you aspiring skaters to come and try new tricks. The highly anticipated Dr. Carl Duer Soccer Complex also opened up last year. This awesome place is by Stonepeak right off of the interstate and is a great addition to a booming area like Crossville.
Crossville, Tennessee welcomed the Tennessee Women's Open at Stonehenge Golf Course. This was a big success and many golfers from all over came to compete and observe such a great event. Crossville Memorial Airport celebrated its 75th year anniversary and had a big festival in its honor.
Crossville continues to grow and prosper every year. I am so thankful to have found this great place to live and will continue to enjoy it for many years to come.
