Think You Don't Need a Home Inspection...Think Again!
Are you a Tom Hanks Fan, or maybe Shelley Long? Have you seen the classic eighties movie "Money Pit"? What may seem pretty darn funny from Hollywood's Point of View, may not be so funny when it is happening to you, or someone you know...in real life!
The Money Pit Trailer
Buying A Home is very serious, and should be taken seriously. Of course, there is nothing that says you can't have fun and enjoy it at the same time. When you choose the home of your dreams, you will want to have a home inspection performed by a licensed, reputable home inspector. Otherwise, Your dream home could turn into a nightmare.
You may think that the house looks great and could possibly have no problems...That is where a home inspector comes in. A home inspector will check things like structural components, plumbing, electrical, appliances, roof and attic, crawl spaces, windows, doors, code violations...The list goes on for days! Then, the home inspector will prepare a report (usually several pages) listing any problems, current or potential, and usually a list of suggested repairs. Maybe that bay window you absolutely love is leaking, maybe those trees that you adore may have roots encroaching on the home and causing structural damage, maybe that unique sink in the master bath wasn't installed properly, Maybe it's not your dream house afterall!
I can help you find the home you need, and I will highly recommend a home inspection. When you decide to make an offer on a property, I will give you a copy of NCREC Questions & Answers on Home Inspections, which answers such questions as what, why, when & how an inspection is performed. If you choose to forego a home inspection, you will be asked to sign a waiver, that also states that I, as your REALTOR®, recommended a home inspection. That is how important I feel a home inspection is.
