Lately I've been really focusing on my AR presence. I committed to myself that this was an area of my business that I was going to improve. I've submersed myself into the Active Rain community. I read posts, try my hand at blogging, make comments.
Well, I've come down with a sickness, actually an addiction I'm afraid. I'll admit it to everyone here, I'm addicted to Active Rain. I tried to withstand but it was no use. The more I read and blog and rack up points, I sink further and further into this addiction. It's an addiction that I have to have a fix for every hour or two! I even check to see what's happening on AR in the middle of the night when I get up to, you know, raid the fridge or run to the bathroom!
I love everything about Active Rain....I love reading posts by my colleagues and learning about the real estate industry. I love reading their posts about their pets, families and the journeys they take throughout the day. I love looking at Lenn Harley's posts and the little avatars she uses every day. I love the comments on my posts and replying to those comments. I love the jokes that make me smile and lift my spirits. I love the success stories and words of inspiration. I love being able to search for information about how to enhance my posts and find not one or two, but several wonderful posts that address my question. I love reading my friends posts that I subscribe to and feel proud when one of them is featured. I love this community. Thanks for making me feel welcome and for all of the knowledge that you are willing to share with me.

people around me don't understand AR and boy are they missing out!!! I try to tell them, but they will see soon enough as I climb my way up in Google and my business continues to grow. It's a good addiction, better than my diet pepsi addiction. I'm learning, making connections, and positioning myself all at the same time, what's not to be addicted to?

oh yeah, let's not forget the "high" we get when we get that phone call and you ask, "how did you find me?" and it's AR. or the "high" you get when your blog gets featured, or the "high" when you hit your next points milestone or new bling, or when someone you admire on here comments on your blog. There are so many reasons to be addicted!!!!

Lana-Thanks for the comments, I too try to schedule it into my day, but alas, sometimes other things on my schedule get pushed aside because I can't pull myself away. Sometimes I forget to eat! (I wish)

Elliott-You know exactly how I feel. I really tried not to get hooked but like you said, my competitive juices started flowing and there's no stopping me now! That's the great thing about AR, even though you're 2500 miles away from me, I still feel your support.
Todd & Devona-Awesome is right! Don't give it up, I don't plan to.
Ted-I can learn more in a morning on AR than in months reading articles and attending meetings I think. There's so much knowledge here, it's great.
Bill-It just gets better and better, and like other addictions, I have to have more and more to keep my high;) My husband has no idea what I'm talking about when I tell him "it's work".
Michael & Colin-This is better than, should I say a lot of things! It's crazy how thoughts run through my mind about a blog I read that I decide I'd like to comment on or something will happen during the day and I'll think "this would be a great blog topic". Needless to say, I run to the laptop for a "hit".
Christine-I've join the "addicted to Active Rain" group. No one there has offered any solutions for recovery. It is a great place to be and great for my brain, keeps things fresh.

Ken-I didn't want to admit to anything more than an hourly fix, I thought that was probably extreme! To tell you the truth, it's more like every 15 minutes or I get the shakes;)
Damon-Sick but productive, I can live with that.
Agent Aaron-No prescription and no bad side effects. Plus I don't have to hang out at the local convenience store at 1AM for my fix, it's right here on my laptop!
Cara-You're right, it seems like everything I talk about includes something I've read here on AR. It is such a great community.

Randy-That's a good addiction too, but I don't drink coffee(LOL)

Kathleen-I can't think of one bad side effect from AR, except maybe the lack of sleep because I can't stop thinking.
Robert-I love the instant gratification I get and the on-demand info readily available to me.
Kim-Not many people are involved in AR in my community but that's okay. They're missing out. One phone call or email is worth all the time that I spend here. It just gets better and better. Diet Pepsi is okay, but AR ROCKS!
Debbie-That's the beauty of AR, I've learned so much and there's so much more I haven't even scraped the surface yet.
David-Can't say that I've fallen asleep and don't remember that I wrote a blog, dang-it. Hopefully soon.....
