WORDLESS WEDNESDAY: Lake Pend Oreille is big...but, honestly...are lifeboats really necessary?

Here is another photo-op that just couldn't be passed up.  Typically, I don't cruise around with boats piled on other boats...but, today was different.  Today, in "Monty Pythonesque" fashion, we piled them up.  (I was actually transporting the new/used Pelican paddle boat 10 miles across the bay here on Lake Pend Oreille in the effort to surprise my wife with her new toy...by the way, the surprise worked!)  The fun never ends up here in North Idaho.

Kent, you sure do know how to live... and that is one great present for your wife! I am totally jealous. Look at that lake, the scenery, wow!

Not really "wordless" at all, but it sure inspires me to get on the boat and get the heck out of dodge."  I'm with Andrea....I'm jealous!

That's great, Kent.  My son and I took my husband to Newport Beach on Father's Day for lunch.  We had wanted to do lunch on Balboa Island but there, literally, was no place to park.  On the ferry ride over to the island, we saw several large boats either towing the smaller boats behind them or actually with the small boats on their deck.  We figured it was something similar to when you bring your huge bus to camp and tow your little car behind so you can go tooling around without having to drive the huge land yacht.

What a nice surprise for your wife and fun delivering it.  Love the lake and wouldn't mind living along that.

Hi Kent, I love it at Lake Pend Oreille it is one of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen.  What a lucky lady your wife is- she got a new boat AND gets to put it in Lake Pend Oreille :-)

Hi Heather - The difference is, I have a small boat hauling a small boat.  One can never be too careful, I guess. Thanks for stopping by!  -K

Hi Lisa - She was soooo psyched!  The paddle boat is all she really wants.  The lake here is 46 miles long...that's a long haul in a paddle boat!
