When trying to get the listing for an expired you might want to “quaere” the reason.

That's right I said it and I'll stand by it until someone can show me the reason not to.  The vast majority of my business has been from calling and getting the client to list with me.  Not all have sold but some have.  One of the first things that causes me to question is why did this property not sell.  The question is followed by a quaere of the problem.  You might ask the meaning of quaere that is to: suggesting further investigation of a point.   Most of the time it's the price and I make suggestions.  Some of the time the client agrees with me but sometimes they don't.  Then it's up to me to decide if I want to take a listing I think might not sell.  Join "wordsmith" on AR.  It's a great day to buy or sell a home.

James. That word just exploded my head!! Now I'm pretty sure I would never use it in a conversation. The reason is because nobody would know what the heck I was talking about. They'd be.....flummoxed.

I would probably use 'inquire' or 'querry' in a conversation before 'quaere.'
