A Co-Worker Just Asked - "What's all the hype about Dropbox, when you can use Google docs for free?"

Here are just three reasons that I prefer Dropbox.

1) Dropbox is FREE too - you get two gigabytes of online storage.  If you refer someone you get 250 megabytes more for each person that signs up, up to 8 gigabytes, for a total of 10 gigabytes of free online storage.

2) Dropbox is much quicker and more convenient than Google Docs. I have a "Drobpbox" folder on the Desktop of my office computer, my laptop, my home computer, my iPad and even on my phone. When I add a document, I simply save it to that folder.  It's quick and easy - there's no logging in or uploading required.  When I log into another computer, my document is there. When I make changes to that document and save it, it is automatically updated online and synchs across to my other computers, so I always have the most current version available.

3) When I leave my office with my laptop and go to a Client where I can't get WIFI, I can still access my documents because they are on my laptop Desktop. If I make changes to that document, when I get back to an Internet connection, everything is automatically synched on all my computers. It's like having all my computers  networked.

And when I don't have access to any of my computers, I can always get to to my documents from any computer by logging on to Dropbox.com and entering my User ID and password.

And did I mention it was FREE!

Dropbox is one of my favorite tools - I don't know how I ever managed without it.
