Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need. I came across a song on You-tube last night that got me thinking/reminiscing. Latter I read an embarrassing blog, people banning together to justify their bad behavior. The blog is irrelevant, just sad. Lets start with the video.

My late friend Bob Martel use to chid me for never leaving after dropping him at home or his car until he was inside or moving. He normally mentioned it as he was getting out of my truck. He'd say "You don't have to wait!" I'd wait.

One day Bob brought it up at lunch. Articulating behavior that to me was as normal as breathing in and breathing out was like trying to explain why I breath. To me it was normal some thing I never thought about.

I grew up in Central Michigan in the 50ths and 60ths, moving to the "big city" Portgage/Kalamazoo to go to high school. Michigan is snow country it can get cold, very cold you simply never left anyone until they were inside or their car was running.

We also went prepared almost every car carried a tow chain, jumper cables, a shovel (two in the winter) blankets and a gas can. We took "be prepared" very seriously! We never left Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need.

Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need. It didn't matter it was not some thing we though about, just some thing we did.

Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need. How do you treat friends? How do you treat acquaintances? How do you treat strangers? How do you treat clients? Are you prepared?

Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need. If you can't be depended upon as a human being how can you be depended upon as a fiduciary? Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need. Only the strangers can be briefly fooled by your facade.

Can you treat Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Needdifferently? Of course you can, but life will never get easier! Some, some would say many, phonies succeed, but they become bitter, cynical, disgusting individuals.

Are you prepared? What's in your trunk? What's in your briefcase?

Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need.Do you leave them out in the cold? Do you leave them stuck? Do you leave them out of gas? Do you love any thing about your job besides your paycheck?

Friends Acquaintances Strangers In Need. Can they depend on you?

For the most part, today's society is different. It's "get out of my way, I'm coming through". Unfortunate.

Ask me about real estate! I know stuff:)

I'm with you Bill.  I'm often surprised by how many people are amazed by simple acts of kindness & concern - then I'm surprised as to why they don't do the same.

Don't ever change.  This world needs folks like you:)

Bill - To your last sentence I would answer, I certainly hope so.  When I met the sweetest, kindest, and most giving person I'd ever known ... I fell in love with her.  I'm certain you know the feeling.

Bill to this day I do the same thing. No matter who, I don't leave until the person is in the house or gotten in their car and pulled away before I leave. And the answer to the next last question is yes. I would not being doing what I do if a paycheck was my only goal.

By the way blogs trying to justify bad behavior are fairly common here on AR these days. Recently the major effort seems to be to justify the so called politically correct "Strategic Defaults". Why just not call it for what it is "Stiffing the Lender" and putting those who truly can not pay their mortgage at even a bigger future risk.

George,

That doesn't surprise me!

There's a tactic that has been around forever, by getting others to behave as badly as you do you justice your own bad behavior! Some promote bad behavior as a right of passage to ease their own guilt! Saddly, it offen shows up here.

The best, bad example of such an out rage started in 1974 but shall remain name less.

Mike,

I'm humbled.

My Parents thank you!

My Grand Parents thank you!

My Great Grand Parents thank you!

There are a lot of truly great people who freely gave me their time and wisdom. I believe we become who we associate with I pray I make them proud! Most importantly I try to be the man Brenda sees in me.

I do believe it nurture not nature that's important. I've got this friend raised among good but primitive tribel aborigines that turned out well!
