How to De-Clutter Your Home. You are packing up your house, getting ready for the big move. The only problem is you have so much stuff! Or maybe you just don't seem to have enough room for your clothes in the closet or your toys in the garage. It's time to de-clutter your life! Procrastination will only prolong the problem. Here are a few simple ideas on how to de-clutter your home!
Bedroom Closet-If you are like me, my clothes seem to multiple like rabbits! The only problem is how many items do I actually wear? De-cluttering your closet is very simliar to organizing your closet. If you haven't worn it for a year, it's time to donate the item to a worthy charity!
Shoes-They are like clothes, they multiply! Only worse for me! Start by sorting the shoes according to their use: athletic, sandals, pumps, boots, etc... Let's be reasonable, we really don't need four pairs of black pumps! At least one can be donated! Take it slow, for every ten pairs of shoes you have, donate one to a charity.
Kitchen Drawer-Remember buying the Orange Peeler for $3.99 that you just had to have? It's in the drawer, still in the packaging! I know it was a great deal, but now the item is taking up valuable room in the kitchen. If you have used the item in the last six months, keep it. If not, you guessed it, donate it!
The Garage-It's easier to keep the garage clean when it's organized. But how do you organize your garage? Start by dividing the garage into sections: one for holiday decorations, one for gardening, one for tools, etc... Next step is to limit the amount of space for each section. Once you reach your limit on space, it's time to donate the extras!
Remember to start small; any progress you make should be celebrated! Happy Organizing!
