Summer Time Treats in Salem Oregon

Store front

I was out with a buyer last weekend and she told me about a great treasure we have right here in the rural area of Salem Oregon, Willamette Valley Fruit Co!  The store is located in the Howell Prairie area and surrounded by various crop fields.

In addition to espresso, you can grab muffins or even a sausage dog and enjoy your lunch on the picnic tables outside.  There is playground equipment for the kids to burn off a little summer time energy too.

But the best part of picture of playgroundmy discovery was the homemade fruit pies!  All natural ingredients, they are frozen-unbaked so you can get that fresh baked pie in your kitchen, and perhaps the credit too!  I picked up Marion Berry Crunch and French Apple for a July 4th BBQ, man were they good!  Check out this Salem Oregon sweet spot on line at WVFCO.com.

Hi Catherine -- this is a great Localism post. If I were in your neck of the woods, I'd definitely stop by the Williamette Valley Fruit Company.

Congratulations on attending Rain Camp so early in your time here on Active Rain--it's a great experience, isn't it?

John - Thank you!

Mary - Luckily it is about 25 minutes from my house, or I would be there at least once a week!  They really are made with natural ingredients, including wheat flour, so I don't think they are quite as bad for you, at least that is what I tell myself!

Lottie - Yes, I loved being able to attend Rain Camp so early in my AR adventure.  I also have taken the free online training with AR and got a lot out of that too.  Now, if I could just find more time to actually write the blogs.....
