Contact Jim Frimmer for all your San Diego real estate needsWhy?There are many things in life that I still don't understand, even though I'm going to be half a century young on July 18. It seems that even though we all grow older day by day, there's never a lack of things going on that puzzle we the (normal?) people.

When I read them, hear about them, or see them on the news, or YouTube, or the Internet, I just shake my head and ask, Why?

A few of the interesting tidbits that have shown up on the news recently that puzzle me:

  1. Why the overly wealthy (i.e., sports and movie stars) can't do something productive with their millions of dollars. Most recently I'm thinking of Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen, but the list seems to be endless.
  2. Why people want to collect hair. I don't even like my own hair after it's been cut off, so I sure don't want to collect someone else's hair. Recent hair auctions (they actually have hair auctions?) saw a swatch of Che Guevara's hair go for $119,500. John Lennon's went for a paltry $48,000, and poor Britney Spears.... A lock of her hair is worth only $3,500. What is she to do?
  3. Why court cases make no sense. Here in San Diego, a woman killed her baby and was sentenced to eleven years in prison. A man who stole women's purses was convicted and sentenced to twelve years in prison. Something's just not right.

Jim, Oh my, these are disturbing.  The hair thing is just plain freaky.  In lieu of Mel and Charlie, I prefer to focus on Bill and Warren....Warren Buffet is on a campaign to convince the very wealthy to give away at least 50% of their wealth...and many are doing it.  That's refreshing, don't you think?

You would think the rich would step up to the plate like in the old days of JP Morgan, Rockerfeller, Kennedy, Hughes, Carnegie, Rothschild to help fix this jobless economy. But, here is the best Bill Gates could come up with http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWjpVJ8YNtk

Jim.....Interesting points to ponder.  Your last one about the court system certainly makes one wonder about justice and the punishment fitting the crime.

Hey, everyone!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I've been very busy, but today I'm trying to follow up on these older posts like this one to see if anyone had any questions or if I really need to respond to anyone's comments.

I will read all the comments and respond to any that need a response, but since this post is rather old, rather than making comments here in my post to each and every one of you, I'll just let everyone know that I have read all the comments and if there are any questions, I'll answer those in comments below this one. Otherwise I'll simply post this comment and then head over to your blogs soon to visit and do some reading and commenting. I hope you'll have a nice welcome mat out for me!

Don't forget to let your cat come out to play with all the other ActiveRain kitties. Your cat-friendly dogs can come, too!

If you need a great cat book, get yourself a copy of Peg Silloway's The Cat Lover's Book of Days.

Hope all is well with everyone.
