I believe I own this Lady a Dance!!!

The Dance is Real Estate.  Little did I know how little I knew 31years ago as a young 21 year old with a Fresh New Real Estate License and a Broker's License to boot!  Yes, back then in Arkansas you could take an extra weekend (30) class room hours and if you passed the test you would be a Broker!!  What a wild ride that has been.  I've learned so much and continue to learn and evolve.  Hey, just take a look I've gotten into ActiveRain and that is really stepping out of the box for me.

Let's talk about that Dance called Real Estate.

1.  It's a slow dance sometimes.  When you 1st get started you spend all that time telling anyone who would listen that you are in the real estate business.  Back then it was slow there was no Internet (somewhere along the way Al Gore invented that) somehow I missed all that but anyway.  Lots of post cards, walking streets, doing surveys and cold calls.  Oh how the world has changed.

2.  Sometimes it's the bump.  Anyone remember the bump from the 70's?  The old Disco Days.  As you grow your business there are a few bumps in the road.  Learning bumps that teach you lesson need to become a good broker.

3.  Other days you need a two step.  Remember the two steps from the 80's and all those great country songs.  But to be really good at this buiness you need someone who will two step with you.  There are a lot of two step partners from the Realtors to your sales agent to your assistance.  Each of these play such an important role in the growth of your career.

4.  How about the days we just need to Boogie.  That was before the back got bad but it was sure fun.  Don't you feel somedays in the Real Estate Business you are doing the Boogie.  I know I do.  I still list and sell and manage 30 agents.  There are times the Boogie almost runs me down.  But it is sure fun.  A quick step here and a quick step their and before long you've pieced it all together with some bubble gum.

5.  But in the end it's like a Waltz.  A dance so perfect.  You know you were meant for the business from the 1st day you got started.  So many wonderful things have happened to me in this Waltz.  I've been selected Arkansas Realtor of the Year.  I've served as President of the Arkansas Realtors Association.  I've been Region 9 VP for National Association of Realtors.  So many wonderful dances!

So many wonderful things have happened because I decided to take the dance.  My career has been a wonderful dream come true and my wife of 14 years has simply made the dance complete.

The Lady has given me the best dance anyone could expect!

Mike, I was at all those dances just watching and admiring your steps!  I haven't been to convention in about three years and I sorta miss it.  When you work on the state level as you've done, it takes all the stamina that you can muster.  This is a lovely blog.
