A total of 114 Dane County foreclosures were filed in June, decreasing 6% from the 121 filings from a year ago.
June was the second month this year to show a decrease in filings from the same month of the previous year. This is an encouraging development, but foreclosures are still very high from a historical perspective. June's total was 256% more than the 32 filings logged in June of 2005, when foreclosures started their 5 year climb (see the first red dot in the graph above).
