Many thanks to every one who responded to yesterday's post with a comment.
Is is reassuring to see the consensus that developed around the issue.
While on the topic, it's worth noting taking a broader approach to real estate marketing yields another significant benefit. And this benefit extends far beyond the process of real estate marketing.
When we scan the world around us for potentially useful marketing ideas, we are in fact seeking experience-based ideas that we can use in our work.
The underlying premise is that of an idea or approach works in one endeavor or another, a modified version might be equally effective in our own efforts.
In keeping with the theme of removing limitations, there is no reason to restrict this process to real estate marketing. Once we have sourced and adapted a new way of doing some aspect of real estate marketing...why not pay it forward?
Return it to the public domain by applying your 'new approach' to making a difference for others.
If you have enjoyed the benefits of some one else's experience, pass it on so that others can benefit from your experience.
By taking this approach, broadened real estate marketing becomes a lens. Looking a different ways of doing things from the perspective of real estate marketing we can see patterns and aspects that other folks might miss.
When we pass on what we have learned, we have in effect helped others see and learn things that they may have missed. And that is exactly how a lens helps us see better.
