California Wholesale Real Estate: Many people have caught the real estate investing bug. There is a very big difference, though, between real estate investment and traditional investment vehicles like bonds or stocks. If you have been watching the bank interest rates on things as simple as savings accounts you know that things have changed for the worst and rapidly.
With the recent events that have plagued the stock market and their investors, those that believe in traditional investment vehicles still hold out hope that the stock market has to turn around to where it once was. That may or may not happen.
One big difference between the real estate market and stocks or other investments is that if your portfolio contains only traditional investments, it could dive so low that you have almost nothing left. And nothing to show for it at all except paper that says you own the losing ventures.
Real estate gives you something tangible for your money. Let’s say you invest 20k in an older house and spend 5k doing some needed clean up and repairs. Even if your initial intention was to buy low, fix, and flip for profit you can still hold onto it if the market is at a low point and nothing’s selling.
That means you can actually keep your investment and change gears a bit to still realize a profit. You have a piece of property can be rented out and produce a monthly cash flow. This can go on for as long as necessary until the market stabilizes and you can sell the property for that profit you originally wanted to make with it.
If you think about this for a moment, can loser stocks make you money while you are waiting for the market to turn upwards? Absolutely not. But a piece of real estate can generate money for you while you wait.
There are things that you must know, of course, to make this work for you. You should realize, for example, that you need to be flexible and ride the roller coaster but keep your seat belt on. Make sure that you always a plan ‘b’ to go along with your plan ‘a’ so you will be prepared to wait out any storms that may arise.
Real estate can be a productive investment in almost any market trend, but you must have an idea of what you are doing. Get educated and find a mentor if possible to achieve the greatest results.
