This is a re-blog . . . and I do NOT find anything GOOD about the MSN Article.

The basic steps of foreclosure.  It's so sanitary.  Why, it's only a 'process' and Jean Folger of Investopedia makes it sound so sterile.

Tomorrow I'll write my own post about the 6 steps to Foreclosure.

Do you ever wonder how a society can become DESENSITIZED?!?  Do you even care?!?

In this article, the steps are lined out, and in my head I can hear the sad cadence of the death drum beating down to the final day when they come to kick you out.

Did the brilliant journalist Jean "Good to the Last Drop" Folger realize that with each FORECLOSURE there's a FAMILY living in that house that will now be displaced.

This was my comment:  "Thanks for posting this.  I don't like this article, not because of the steps . . . which are perfunctory, but that's a person living in that house, and there is not one ounce of human compassion for whoever owned that home.  Go ahead and become SO desensitized that you don't even REALIZE that a family might be living there.  Let's just round them all up, and put them in the train cars, and haul them off to the work camps.  Ever wonder how a society can GET desensitized?!?  Reading crap like this, and thinking it's a brilliant piece of journalism."

Right now, I'm tired.  Tomorrow, I'll write my own 6 steps to FORECLOSURE!

Via Tony Cannon, e-PRO & Darcy Cannon, SFR - The C Team (ERA Realty Center):

I found this article in the MSN Money section and thought that it would be good to share it with everyone.  It goes through the six steps of foreclosure and what the homeowner can expect as well as what got them to that stage.  I liked it because it was a simple expanation of what happens in each step as well as what the homeowner can try or expect.  Here is the link:

I do hope that this helps explain somethings to those who are in this process, and I also hope that you understand, these steps can take quite a few months.

Carla, look at the source, MSN.  What would one expect?  It's dry and cold like our current ... well, I'll be nice and won't say it.  I look forward to reading your 6 steps to foreclosure tomorrow.

For Heaven's sake you are so right, the trauma suffered by the individuals and families is never considered by the corporate ranks of bean counters where we are all just numbers. Good points!

Interestingly I just left an appt. where the owner is divorcing, lost his job 2 weeks ago and have 2 liens, 80/20. Constable delivered another notice today. It's from an attorney and I can tell the verbiage is basically a 20 day letter on the 2nd, but the legalities of the letter are so hard to follow he essentially thought he was being sued... No where in his letter did it look like the MSN article. In other words, had he read the MSN article it MIGHT have helped set expectations, but the letter from the attorney uses completely different language than that article uses. And yes, I struggle with whether to be to the point, more of less, or solemn and sad (with him/for him) or be 100% upbeat and encourage him to keep his chin up. It's so hard to know how to support clients in these pickles. They're all so different. Some do truly appreciate the MSN style facts and are done feeling sorry for themselves, but for the most part, yea, give it some breath!

Hopefully we will never lose the compassion for each others miseries. There are some many people hurting now it is easy to lose track of the individuals that make up the huddled masses. Good re-blog Carla.

Compassion has gone out of the window a long time ago. People have been replaced with numbers. Very sad indeed.
