I guess that is a way different way to be green. Good luck with it! Stay green!
German:
Green can be good if done wisely.

Hi Ty,
I understand the need to be green, but most "solutions" cause more environmental problems because of the processes they require.
I also believe that being green should start from the top - for example: I wouldn't need to recycle all that packaging if manufacturers were forced to only use what was needed for the product inside.
Pam:
I wrote this blog because of the new eco fee in Ontario, the price of some things like AA batteries and light bulbs doubled!
No one knows however who the money goes to! duh?
Ty
Hi Ty,
I heard about that fee, but didn't want to know. Just something else that someone, somewhere is getting away with, without any accountability. I'm getting tired of all this shite.
Yes, that bloody eco fee that they foisted upon us (pretty much without telling us about it beforehand). Like Pam, I'm pretty fed up.
Pam and Malcolm: It was pretty sly how this was implemented, where were the so called consumer advocates and watchdogs.
The point that gets me, no one seems to know where the extra money is going. Right now the retailer is keeping the extra money, which in some cases has increased 100%
Ty
Hi Ty,
So this just in from 570 News:
"Environment Minister John Gerretsen says he's scrapping the fee, but the waste diversion program that it funded will continue. He says the government will review the program, and set up a consumer protection hotline."
Pam:
Thanks for the update and when enough people voice their distaste, government can listen.
Ty
We have green options including holding all paper documents on microsd cards. Also, no paper advertising. Good luck going green!
