How to avoid extra expenses with your home during challenging economic times

The 1st six months of home ownership are critical especially for 1st time home buyers. Incurring additional repair expenses for home appliances, including Heating + AC can quickly strip savings / cash reserves.

Today during a strategy session with Debora Graftaas at Better Homes Realty in American Canyon I was reminded of the importance of a Home Warranty for any homeowner, especially 1st time home buyers.

Bridgette Nelson Area Manager for First American Home Buyers Corporation stopped by to remind the staff of the web special for Home Warranties good thru August 31st 2010.

Here is Bridgette's quick video with the details.

Inventory has grown slightly which allows many buyers a better opportunity to secure an accepted offer.

With interest rates at all time lows, discounts available for Home Warranties now is the time to grab your REALTOR and go find the home of your dreams.

Home repair expenses can be greatly alleviated with a Home Warranty leaving more cash where it belongs in your savings account.

To your success!

Paul, you are so right.  Every buyer should have a warranty for the first year.  I renew ours every year.  There was a time for about 2 years I did not have one, but that was out of the last 12 years in our house.  It has always been a blessing to have.

Melanie,

You are very smart keeping your home warranty in place. It certainly helps to keep the surprise home expenses in check.  Looks like I might need to call Bridgette.

It came in very handy for the two years I kept it (at least three different occasions the home warranty was used).

Great job with helping the distressed home owners!

Paul
