This Moisture Was Trying To Hide From My Infrared Camera During A Home Inspection In Ogden, Utah Today!
Infrared Home Inspectors have become moistures worst nightmare. Moisture can run but it can not hide(although it tries REALLY hard) from an infrared camera.
This particular moisture was caused from a plumbing problem(faulty pipe fitting at upper level sink). The plumbing line had a slow leak that began to grow with time. The areas of BLUE show the moisture hiding behind the sheetrock. The moisture is moving across the ceiling and down the wall.
Without infrared technolgy this moisture could have easily gone un-detected There were no visable signs of moisture and you couldn't see the faulty pipe connection..
I surely wouldn't want to buy a home an the ceiling start sagging or me start smelling a moldy smell after 1-2 months. I SURELY SURELY wouldn't want my clients to endure this (ESPECIALLY after my home inspection) so that's why we use Infrared on EVERY home inspection.
Infrared Technology has revolutoinized the Home Inspection Industry in terms of offering the best inspection available. Plumbing problems such as these, which could easily be overlooked with a flashlight inspector, stick out like a soar thumb to an Infrared Inspector.
