Today's real estate market in League City , TX and beyond

molasses

Real Estate today is no different then it has been from the start, there will always be sellers and buyers. Now sometimes there are more sellers then buyers while at other times more buyers then sellers. At times the real estate market will be super hot and at times slow as molasses. We can not always control the market (actually really we can't at all) but we can control how we react to it. Having a slow market, topped by stricter lending guidelines appears to be a totally negative situation that perhaps should make us run and hide or at least get out of the business. If this is how you feel please do, that's right, it maybe time for you to leave. This then is the silver lining, the sun peeking out from the clouds or any other analogy you might want to use.

Real Estate Wannabees

Our industry is over populated by real estate wannabes that came into the business when things were easy. If all you need to do is get a license, sit and take calls, and show property (not necessarily with any skill or professionalism) and money just fills your account, guess what a lot of unprofessional real estate agents will appear. This is true for any profession and has happened over and over again. When things slow down and you need to use your imagination, skill, professionalism and let's not forget hard work the first thing to happen is the wannabes leave.

I don't want this to be about the negative so let me go back to the positive. Things will improve, the market will bounce back and lenders will start lending. I will be here because I'm willing to work and develop myself as a real estate agent. I know there will be many of us who will once again see the sun and be here for when things get back to a more normal market (whatever that means). For awhile we will be able to work without the glut of poor agents and we can step up and show how real estate should be done. In the meantime we can still earn a good living and know we will make more from, in the future, from lessons learned today.

While we wait for this we can use this time to better educate ourselves, work a little harder and smarter and learn we can control our market. Yes we can survive and for those who do, we will be better agents.

Super Agent

League City is nice.. quite a bit of change there over the past 15 years since I have been out of the area.. Read the book "Shift".  Follow it's information as this is the market where you can obtain your unfair share...

I came back to League City in 2006 after being gone for about 20 years. Yes things have changed, no more cows on FM 2094 just homes. I lived in Seattle area for 16 years and BC is a very beautiful area.
