AN IDEA CAN PEEK OUT like a prairie dog from it's hole and then disappear into the hole just as quickly.
In Rose Park while walking yesterday morning, a sweet little prairie doggie had his nose poked out from a little opening just beside the concrete picnic bench next to the playground. The perky little nose peeked out just an inch or so and that was it.
It reminded of a time a person told me that she often had felt like she was peeking out from under a rug in her marriage. Fortunately prairie dogs seem to be happier critters and was just poking his head out to see if the sun was just right!
A thought, a sight, a saying, a chance encounter all can trigger an idea.
The best idea is one that is tried with gusto and proven to work or not, while the worst idea is the one that lanquishes on a stickie not in your pocket.
On the other hand the best idea is often the thought not captured while walking, showering, or in the Wakefulness of the night.
The best idea may be that idea lanquishing on a stickie note long forgotten in a coat pocket, stuck to the floorboard of the car, tossed aside one day in a cleaning frenzy.
Journals, blogging, and speechwriting are all tried and proven ways to capture ideas.
Ideas are fluttery wisps that waffle in and out - sometimes there and sometimes just barely peeking out fromt the corners of your mind. An idea can be hesitant to erupt like the word that is almost on the tip of one's tongue, but still fails to form. An idea can die a slow death in the fog of indecisiveness.
WHAT CAN A BLOG DO FOR AN IDEA?
A blog will help you capture ideas. A blog will help you distill thoughts on the page like a young child who captures a butterfly in a jar. A blog can fascinate like the fascination of the toddler stomping on the big red ants at Rose Park.
A blog will help you clarify your ideas and will help crystalize your thoughts and capture the gems of thoughts prompted while walking, showering or in the wakefulness of the night.
A blog helps ensure that your ideas are preserved and not lost to the flightiness of a sticky note.
