Selling a House

The right time to sell your house!!! (edit/delete) There seems to be a lot of confusion as to when is the right time to sell a home? I know there has been talk about the winter time is the slowest time and houses don't sell but in reality the houses are still selling now as they were before. I have had the same amount of listings sell now than they did last year right before the holidays. The market has come around so that there are more buyers and more houses selling even in this bad economy than when the economy was great! At least we know. the buyers that are out there looking now are the serious buyers and need to buy now or they would not be looking in the freezing cold weather and they would be waiting for the spring weather to start looking again... All houses do sell when they are priced right!!! Some sellers still believe that there house is worth more than others because of certain extra momentos or priceless items put in but in actuality the house is still worth the same amount that the house down the street is going for without the few extra features. In some cases its worth a little bit more but not that much more that it would make a tremendous difference on the list or sale price.. The buyers just need to be educated and brought up to speed on the whole listing process and how to choose a list price and the selling process on how to keep from losing a deal over 5,000 to 10,000 dollars. we seem to have this alot lately when putting the deals together... I hope all this info helps a lot of people and I hope all the agents that read this and have been through this themselves can agree with me and know what I am talking about... Have a great day everyone and good luck with all your deals and sales.... for more information or to see houses, Please feel free to visit my website at www.debbieromeo.com or call me on my cell anytime with questions at 1-646-578-1355. Hi My sister and brother-in-law are selling their house to me. The market value of the house is around 300,000. However they are going to give me a huge discount and sell it to me for $150,000. I wonder if I will pay property tax based on the higher market value or the purchase price? The house is located at California. Thanks!

Hi Cho Yung Tea,

The answer to your question is that you pay the property tax on the purchase price not the value of the property. thank you for the question and good luck with the sale of the house.
