This is the eigth in a series. If you haven't been keeping up, you can go back and read my first post about Gardening Between Denver and Boulder, and from there go to the second, third, etc.  Or, go on to the ninth Gardening Between Denver and Boulder post.

If you are a Colorado gardener, especially in the area between Denver and Boulder, I'd love to hear about your favorite plants.

July 16 - fav plant of the day - Shasta Daisy. I know a lot of people love these cheerful girls! They are easy-care and LOVE the SUN!

July 17 - Coneflower.  OK - I do realize this one is completely covered by a lovely butterfly, but what can I do? Butterflies love them, and I couldn't just brush her away, could I?

July 18 - Fav plant of the day - this is a hydrangea hardy enough for our Zone 5 climate. Doesn't get as humungeous as the hydrangeas I remember in Oregon, but a nice plant for shady areas. Her dark stems are especially attractive.

Yeah it's rough when our weather stays above 90 with day after day of blazing sunshine. I love the sunshine, but the plants need a little extra care unless they're nice and tough!

Joetta, Your post is like a trip down memory lane.  I'm a big gardner but our foliage is so differnt than what we had in Colorado.

Coneflower is one of my favorites.  They definitely attract butterflies.  A great addition to the garden. Great photos.
