Sotheby's vs. Christies

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner

I am a RE/MAX agent.  I LOVE RE/MAX.  I suppose it isn't professional, ethical or necessarily very nice to discuss your competiters, especially in a negative way.  One of the things about real estate is all the gossiping, back stabbing and mis information that floats around. So, in keeping with Active Rain and original content, snippitts and links to articles I have a link to a very interesting article that appeared in the Wall Street Journal about a week ago.  Enjoy.  ( I may not even get points for posting this but really enjoyed this article).

LOL!  These markets bring together strange bedfellows.

I called a large brokerage about two weeks ago to get a combination for a key box.  When I gave the agent on the desk my name, ID number and company name, she asked in a very snide manner, "What is Homefinders.com?"

I just said, "It's my company, agent answering the phone at the duty desk."

"Yes ma'am"

Sometimes you just have to put things in perspective.

Actually, I like RE/MAX too.  Their agents usually have sufficient experience to get over the "king of the mountain" nonsense.

Miriam,  I had missed the Journal article and was delighted to read it.  When Cendant bought Sotheby's , virtually all of the old affiliates dropped them like a hot potato.  Some of their new franchises are pretty professional and others are sort of wanna be's.  I loved the trailer photo!
