According to the Lake Wickaboag Preservation Assocation, treatment will begin on July 21, 2010

The contractor that was hired to conduct this treatment is Lycott Environmental. Treatment will include: spot herbicide to treat nuisance aquatic vegetation.

NO SWIMMING, FISHING AND BOATING IN THE LAKE JULY 21 DON'T USE FOR LIVESTOCK WATERING ON JULY 21 AND JULY 22 NO DIRECT DRINKING (JULY 21-24) NO IRRIGATION FROM JULY 21-26)

I guess in the long run the treatment will make the lake cleaner and easier to swim:)

Unfortunately it happens a lot around here on most of the lakes/ponds...but you are correct it is for cleaner water for swimming! Thanks Bill
