Historic McKinney Farmers Market at Chestnut Square

Welcome

matersSo where does your food come from? What is it grown in or with? How fresh is it? Don't know, well you should! If you are within driving distance to McKinney Texas you really should stop and check out our Farmer's Market. We have a great selection of fresh produce, fruit, honey, breads, pies, and even stained glass, jewelry, and lavender products. You just never know what you will find.

The offerings range from week to week based on what is ready for picking. It really makes it fun when you walk up on a find of French eggplant or butter beans or maybe the blackberries are in. You just never know.

peachesWhere: Chestnut Square in McKinney, Texas.

When: Sat from 8:00am till noon.

What: Produce, Fruit, Bread, Pies, Local Honey, Jewelry, Wine, Crafts, and who knows what...

Who: Local growers and craftsmen.

blueberriesThe fresh fruit is what draws us and the prices are great! We usually spend $40.00 a week on the fruit. We wash it and put it in stainless bowls in the fridge for the kids. Its all gone in 3 or 4 days and the junk food is never touched with fresh: melon, blackberries, strawberries, peaches, plums, blueberries and more readily available.

I love my weekly stop at the local farmer's market.  I find it keeps mefrom reaching for a processed snack when luscious fresh fruit and veggies are waiting in the refrigerator!

@Mary - Thanks for the kind words and yes my girls are about to eat me out of house and home with all the berries, melon and local honey we go through...

@Norma - I so agree, I was never a big fruit eater from the chain grocery; but this fruit is amazing. Even I love to eat it!!!

@Maya - It is a great place, the only sad part is when it starts winding down and the fresh blueberries and blackberries disappear.

Hi Brent, wish we had a regular farmers market here.  Usually it's just one produce stand here or there.

@Silvia - Truth be told, we actually have two the one I blogged about and across town one on Sunday in a very upscale area called Adriatica. Its pretty stunning, so I guess we are very, very spoiled.
