Are you really farming or just pretending?

We hear and use the word "farm" quite a bit in this business, but very few agents actually put the word into practice.

If you're really a farmer, there are several things you need to do in order to survive.

Let's say that you plan on growing a crop.  First off you need to determine what crop will bring in the best return at harvest.  No sense planting corn if everyone else is planting corn.

After you decide what crop to plant, then you need to prepare your land.  You need to till and cultivate the soil.

Throwing seeds on un-tilled land simply becomes food for the crows.

After you plant your seeds, you need to water and fertilize your crop.

Occasionally you may need to hoe in between the rows so that all your hard work doesn't go into feeding non-productive weeds.

Then after several weeks and months of watering, weeding, fertilizing and coddling your crop is ready for harvest.

Finally all your hard work pays off and you get to reap your rewards.

So, you say you're farming?

How many seeds did you plant today?
