I received a note in the mail this week from a past client that I represented as a buyers agent. When I got the letter, I remember her with great fondness. It has been a year since I had talked with her. I got the call off of our Jonesboro Real Estate guide, which is a homes magazine for Realtors to advertise in. She had just sold her home and was in need of a new one. I talked with her for a while, she told me her price range and the location she wanted. Within a week I had located a house I wanted her to see. I stressed to her this home is a repo home, which means "AS IS". We discussed it and she decided she wanted to see. Being a repo, it was vacant and easy to see. We toured the home, along with her Son and she said Tinker, lets write a contract. I wrote the contract and being this was a cash deal, we closed in 3 weeks. We really hit it off and talked alot during this time, in fact she cried at the closing table. She said, I am just going to miss you. As I walked her to her car and handed her a closing gift I thought Wow what a nice lady. So much to my surprise, this week the handwritten note came in the mail and said, "Do you remember what this week is" it is my one year anniversary into my new home. You know as Real Estate agents we sometimes forget how much our buyers think of us. We think we just find someone a house, but to a buyer it is a major change in their life and we have been a great big part in it. She was thanking me for finding her the perfect house and how much she thought about me. There is alot of reasons why I love being a Real Estate professional and this ranks right up there. I LOVE MY JOB!!!! I placed an order for fresh flowers to be delivered to her home and the card read...yes, I do remember what this week is and CONGRATULATIONS on your first year in your new home.
Good work Ms Hulsey. I always particularly appreciate well written blogs by fellow Arkies.
It's so rewarding when you are appreciated for the assistance and work you do to get a transaction to Closing. Many times the buyer or seller don't have a clue as what all it took to get to a successful Closing and have that deed recorded. She sounds like a special buyer.

We do more than houses, homes and recreational land on a lake for a family to enjoy, pass on to the next generation in better shape than they got it is rewarding. Same with the small businesses buyer, the small hobby farm real estate buyer.
Hi, Robin and Sue
You are right, there is a lot to getting a deal from the contract to closing. I am just so passionate about my job!!! I love selling Real Estate.

Hi, Andrew
That is so true, as an agent no matter what we sell, it is changing someone's life.

Tinker, it is true that our clients think of us as a big part of their life, and when we get in touch with them and give them a card, a call, they are so thrilled. All little things count. Good for you!
Hi, Rita
Yes, that is so true and sometimes we just get busy and forget that. My goal is to be better in that area.
