The burgers and fries are so darn good at Five Guys in Crofton MD, that it never occurred to me to try their hot dogs 'til I found out July is National Hot Dog Month.

Check out this photo of my Sunday lunch...

Hot Dog at Five Guys in Crofton MD

You are looking at a bacon cheese dog with onions, ketchup, mustard, and fries.  Believe me, it tasted as good as it looks!

Five Guys in Crofton MDFive Guys is relatively new to the Crofton Md area, and I decided to visit there for the first time after reading Rich Iarossi's Activerain post about a year ago (Sorry, Rich, I can't find it now to include a link).  If you've never visited a Five Guys near you, you simply don't know what you're missing.

There are several locations near Crofton, including Bowie, Odenton and Annapolis Mall.  In fact, this one is technically in Gambrills at 1131-A Rt. 3 North (Carver Square), not Crofton - but sometimes it's hard to know exactly where one zipcode stops and the other starts.

It's not too late fo YOU to celebrate National Hot Dog Month at Five Guys.

WARNING:  Anyone with peanut allergies should stick with McDonalds because Five Guys not only cooks in peanut oil, they offer free peanuts to customers while they wait.  Way too dangerous for anyone allergic to peanuts or even someone who lives with a family member allergic to peanuts!

Be sure to check out these other Crofton Restaurants and Carryouts.  Crofton is located about a half hour from Fort George G. Meade, the U.S. Naval Academy and Andrews AFB and it's worth the short drive for you to visit our community and our businesses if you live or work at those nearby military installations.

Susan - They ARE!  But it's not a once in a lifetime opportunity... you can go back another day and order something different.

Glenn - Click through to read some food facts on their website.  As burger joints go, it's relatively healthy eating.\

Stacey-Ann - First a rueben from Rips and next time a dog from Five Guys.

Leolinda - Those fries are the best anywhere.  I don't know if they do this at all Five Guys, but ours has fries overflowing the container and filling half the bag.  Three of us split a small order on Sunday and it was all we could eat.

We have a Five Guys nearby - I've never been there but my hubby loves them.  Had no idea it was a big chain! LOL

Margaret - No burger post would be complete without reference to a Five Guys.  You really must stop in and order their "Little Hamburger", even if you pass on the fries.

Lanre - Could you send me the link about this?  I couldn't find it.

Irene - You won't be sorry.  And you owe it to your blog readers to do a post about National Hot Dog Month, so you can probably write off the meal on your taxes.

Karen - I didn't either, but I'm happy to find them in lots of places, now that I know how good they are.

Margaret...

The hamburgers are so good that I have never ordered a hot dog at Five Guys. Maybe I'll try one next time!

I love the hot dogs at Five Guys.  Always have liked hot dogs better than hamburgers.  And now, you've saved me from having to write this post.  I'm going to reblog this one for the Gainesville localism.

Margaret- That looks delicious. Five Guys have a great reputation and will do well in Crofton, especially with your endorsement.

Richard - I'm with you on that... I felt the same way!  But I wasn't sorry I tried this, and it probably won't be the last time.

Leesa - Enjoy!  LOL.

Chris Ann - Thanks for the re-blog!

Ellie - I've never been in there when it was empty.  In spite of it's location, it does pretty well.  Imagine if it was in a high-traffic shopping center...

Margaret, They are sooo good. I am ashamed to admit that I ordered a regular size burger and ate the whole thing - next time I will constrain myself and order the small.

Hi Maraget, That photo looks very  tasty. But I wouldn't dare eat it, LOL. For a lot of reasons but the best one is trying to stay trim, LOL

Linda - I don't think I could manage a regular size burger at Five Guys... certainly not if I also had their fries!

William - You are so much better disciplined than I am... I'll bet you eat lots of fruits and veggies and work out every day.  I need to be doing more of that and less of Five Guys.  LOL.

They are also a great choice for families needing Gluten Free Options. Their hot dogs, hamburgers and fries are all safe! As long as you don't have anyone with a peanut allergy, they are great!

Looks great. And I love hot dogs with no bun.  I guess my mom did it to me when I was little.  I'll mix onions and ketchup and dip, but no bun.

That looks so good - particularly because I am hungry but it is too late to start snacking! I will look for hot dogs at the Bethesda 5 guys this week!

Margaret, I absolutely love Five Guys - however, I started a diet in April and Five Guys just isn't on it.  The amount of calories in a burger and fries I wouldn't be able to eat anything else for the whole day.  Maybe after my next 25 pounds I can treat myself!!  That does look divine!!
