I am used to getting spam from my postings on Craigslist. I ignore them. Last Sunday someone took my listing and made a for rent posting on it..... When I became aware of it I reported it as spam and the sellers put a notice on my sign saying it wasn't for rent and they were being spammed. Yesterday another person called me and the ad is still there. They are asking people to fill out a rental agreement on the home on the basis of a driveby..... That is a lot of personal information that can be used to steal someone's identity. The real estate agency seems to be fictitious as does the agent herself... At first I was afraid it was someone who had access to the lockbox and could show the place but that does not seem to be the case. I posted another rental add using the address on craigslist and saying that it was not for rent it was a scam. Anyone know what else I can do. I am thinking a big sign in the front yard for the drivebys.... Not pretty but it might save someones identity. This makes me wonder if I even want to use Craigslist anymore.
