Football is Back.... Who is going to win it all this year?

I know, this isn't much of a real estate subject, but I love football and it is back.... The only thing wrong with football is that the season ends and makes us wait until the Fall with no football.

What is going to happen this year? Who is going to go all the way this year?

I'd love to say my team, the Oakland Raiders are going to do it, but they'll need some basic help before they'll have a chance.... They only need help in 4 basic things.... Offense, Defense, Special Teams, & Coaching.  If they get better in all 4 of these areas they'll do ok...

Seahawks Pre-Season Schedule

My adopted team, the Seattle Seahawks, has a real shot this year... Matt Hasselbeck, Shaun Alexander, coach Holmgren.... and a real TEAM of good players can make some magic happen.... Go Hawks!!

DA BEARS!

I may live in the Twin Cities, but I was born in Chicago and I've been a football fan since I was about 4 years old.  I think they tattooed a big C on my dupa when I was born.  Once a Bears fan, always a Bears fan.  But I sure do miss Walter Payton.

My biggest problem with football these days is the conduct of the players.  I think they make way too much money and think they are God.

A while back Randy Moss ran into a traffic cop with his car and said that he just pushed her a little.  Had that been you or I - we'd be in jail.  Then there was the time they found marijuana in his glove box - but of course, it wasn't his!  Yeah, right!

Lots of bad eggs in the league these days - the dog-fighting, drug-doing, wife-beating, gun-toting jerks should all be thrown out.

Maybe if they lowered the salary cap down to where no one player could possibly make more than about 750K a year - that might bring some of them back to earth.  I just can't stand the attitudes.  Why do we let them act like they are above the law and holier than thou?

There certainly are some bad apples in the league these days, but there are plenty of good people too... We just don't hear about them because good deeds don't seem to make good headlines...

I agree, players shouldn't receive special treatment.  They are just people and should be treated as such.... Life isn't always fair.... But we should strive for it to be, otherwise we have no chance of getting there.

Good to see that Roger Godell is cracking down on the idiots that think they are above the law.  I think all athletes should have some respect for the game they play and if they don't they should have to go get a real job like the rest of us.

Great comments Patti! Go Bears!!! Walter Payton is the greatest running back to ever carry the ball, it is a shame that he passed away so young! If Grossman can get some consistency the Bears will end up in the Supper Bowl again!!!

Alan- it's about time they started to hold these guys to a higher level. there are too many young influential kids looking up to them

Bill - Seriously you need a new team :) This will be a tough pill to swallow for you but I think The PATRIOTS will be back in the Super Bowl this year! Tell AL I said thanks for letting us have his problem child (Randy Moss) - I think he is going to look good on the other end of Brady's passes.

This is the best time of the year - I live for football. It is what gets me through these cold winters here!

I know, I know.... The Raiders suck right now... You've got to be loyal to your team though....

We haven't had a real coach in Oakland since Coach Gruden left.... Al Davis needs to hire a real coach again..... and SOON.  The players aren't playing with heart..... Randy Moss should be ashamed of himself for the job he did last year... He's obviously got the skills, but chose not to use them while wearing Silver & Black. The Raiders were right to trade him.... (The Patriots will have a real shot this year with him... Assuming he chooses to play well...) They would have been better off throwing him out in the middle of the season last year... He obviously was not willing to play well.....

Goes right back to what Patti said in the first comment....  These spoiled brats don't appreciate that they are getting paid very well to play a game....
