Evidently, the bringing of Rand's book to the silver screen is worthy of the Herculean task as explained on BigHollywood's website. The first part will be in theaters in late 2011.
I've been "listening" to Atlas Shrugged on my iPod for a YEAR!!! I'll NEVER buy a book this large again except on my kindle and I will certainly NEVER load 42 disks into my iPod again....3 parts is a good way to do this epic * like Harry Potter and The Ring trilogy.
I give that book as a gift all the time! It's about time a movie is made. Hope people actually go see it!

Yes Ben Affleck would seem to be a suitable character for Hank. A movie should have been made long back...wonder why it took so long....
This book is more relevant today than ever! I will be interested in seeing the movie treatment, that's for sure.
Ryn's book * The Fountainhead * was made into a movie in 1949 with Gary Cooper as Lenn aludes to in her comment.
That must have been a really short dismissal of the book.
A three-part series might just do it justice!
