A Moment in Homer Alaska

A Moose Moment in Homer AlaskaA Moose Moment in Homer Alaska

The other day I was out taking pictures of a new listing... they had horses and they were all brushed and shiny

I came back into town and was driving on the what we call the bypass road... which would make most people laugh... it is technically highway 1 but it is 2 lanes going through town to the Spit... anyway.... I caught a glimpse of something and I thought it was a horse on the highway...but no it was a big shiny moose...  I turned around and saw that it was head down towards the inlet so I did too.... parked my car and waited for it to come to me.... beautiful day, beautiful moose and a beautiful moment ...

The Sun was Shining, the wind gentle through the high grass, birds nesting on the wetlands...

The Moose looked like she was healthy happy and almost as if her hair had been brushed....

Hey Debra, they are such large animals, those moose. Fun to have nature so close. Not much of a chance to see one in Arizona I am agraid.

Debra,

Fascinating beautiful photos. We do not see them here in Florida, and it makes it even more enticing. Thanks

Hi Debra, A great photo capture and glad he seemed so docile. It seems so odd to see a moose out in the summer months foraging around but then a guy has to eat, ya know, :-)

Great Moose pictures, Debra. I took pictures of a deer in my backyard last night which I'll post later. They are so small compared to "northern" deer and espcially compared to your moose buddies.

Debra, after all the moose or bear photos I see posted I still think it's so amazing to live in an area where you have such large animals roaming wild.  Of course I see deer in this area and larger ones up in Illinois and Wisconsin, but that moose is just a bit bigger!!!

Such vibrant color in every photo. It's nice to see so much space that is undisturbed and left just to nature.

It looks like you got pretty close to that moose.  They are really big animals so I imagine it was a little scary.  Great pics.  Beautiful country.
