No, we are not talking about Highlander; we are talking about Elvis Presley. It has been 30 years, and the world is still captivated, or at least I am, especially after watching Good Morning America this morning, with their interview with Lisa Marie Presley.

Perhaps, in tribute you would like to read why Elvis is still so popular, here. Or you would like to see the Good Morning America clip, here. The stats are here, that over 50% of all visitors to Graceland are under 35 years old.

Of all that has been said, the quote I like best comes from Ed Sullivan, calling Elvis "a real decent, fine boy." In her father's footsteps, support Lisa Marie's charity tribute to her father, available tomorrow, with proceeds going to "Presley Place" providing homeless families up to one year of rent free housing, day care, life and career counseling, founded by the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation.

Thanks Allison...Elvis was the KING...he's been missed, too bad he didn't rule longer but his legacy lives on.  We saw him live in 1967 or 1968...tickets at that time were $10 each...I still have the stubs!

Hi Mary! You are sooo lucky! Of all things I can only dream about, that can't become reality, seeing Elvis in person is at the top of the list, even above winning the lottery. I have been to Graceland twice though, that's as close as I am getting!

Allison, your blog has inspired me to blog about my Elvis experience.  I've always loved Elvis and he will always be one of the greatest entertainers of ALL TIME.

Hi Todd- I agree! He was not only one of the greatest entertainers, but also a genuine caring person, that is the real rarity, especially now. Thanks for sharing, and I will look for your post!

Were someone to mention my name 15 minutes after I'm dead would be an accomplishment by itself - but decades!?!

I really liked those awful movies - that's most of what I remember...

The girls actually swooned for Elvis and then later the Beatles - so funny.

Hi Art- I agree, it's amazing that people are still talking after 30 years!

Hi Kathleen- I don't think we have seen that amount of swooning since then either!
