Funny, Bad and just plain weird real estate MLS photos: Part 1

By
Real Estate Agent with Americom Realty

These are all actual photos taken from our local MLS.  I came across them today looking for comps for a bunch of BPOs.

If you come across any more photos in the MLS, (Realtor.com, Craigslist or any other real estate site) that are deserving of recognition, please email them to me and I will post them.

And just to be fair...I will look through all of my listings and post some of my best  worst photos that I have taken.

1.  This first one is the MLS Photo of the week!  You can attract more buyers with honey.

So far my favorite mls listing photo...nothing sells a home like Pooh

2.  Photo tip:  to avoid the glare from the sun, take your listing photos at night.

Here's how your storage building looks in the Dark

OMG -- those are too funny.  I can't believe some that I see.  Especially those where the season has changed.. e.g. from winter to spring... and it says MOTIVATED SELLER..  LOL

Maybe there is a Pooh fan who has just been waiting for the right home..... There are some strange photos in our mls also. You'd think that the sellers would ask for retakes.

Thanks Joan,

Its not just the ones where the seasoned changed...How bout those where the years have changed!   I have seen ones with the date inprinted on them, and they are from 2 - 3 years ago.

Hi Ethan - I get a kick out of the bad MLS photos too, and I have done a couple of posts about it.  It's not bad enough when they show a filthy and messy bathroom with a toilet seat up and stains therein, but just the ones that could have been great but turn out terrible are puzzling to me.  Sometimes it is something that simply could have been fixed by lightening or darkening or cropping once the photo is on the computer, but sometimes, like the one of Pooh, I simply can't figure out how that photo is supposed to help sell the property!

I'm also trying to figure out the pooh picture.  That's the actual photo, not cropped or anything.  But I'm more confused about agents taking pictures at night?

Looking through Active Rain I see that bad photos are a pretty popular topic.  Here are some other members posts:  Sharon TaraSarah CooperSara Bonert, Melinda Peterson

I like the ones shot from the real estate agent while in their car. You can see their car door in the photo.

Ethan, Nothing sells a home like Pooh … great marketing strategy ... if selling a doll house. The night photos … classic.

It is amazing what some agents will post. It is even more amazing that some sellers don't check them out or if they do, they think they are OK.
